Although all the pomp and circumstance that comes with a grand opening will take place the morning of Tuesday, November 9 (doors will open at 1 pm), Disney Store President Jim Fielding made it known via his twitter that the store, the largest of its kind in North America, will commence a soft opening on Thursday, November 4 at 9 am.
The store is located at 1540 Broadway in Manhattan, between 45th and 46th Streets.

so why exactly did I sit at my computer refreshing and spend $5 to get a D23 “sneak peek” ticket if anyone can go tomorrow at 9?
I suppose to get a private audience with Jim Fielding and Jodi Benson, a continental breakfast and the opportunity to buy special merchandise. I know I still plan on going even though it won’t be as new. Aside from the fact that the world has seen the Imagination Park model many times over already, it’s just the lower floor (and the 2 story castle) that will really be unique to the experience.

Because the store is in soft opening mode, I’m not allowed to share any
photos until early next week. But since it’s primarily an Imagination Park
model on top, there’s little new to share in that regard, but I’ll also be
attending the D23 preview and other events so we’ll have photos from that.
