Disney Theatrical Opens Shop at New York’s FAO Schwarz

Disney Theatrical Kiosk at FAO SchwarzFans of Disney’s ‘Mary Poppins’ and ‘The Lion King’ musical have a new destination to pick up some of its merchandise as Disney Theatrical has brought a taste of Broadway to Fifth Avenue. Just a couple of days ago, the group set up a kiosk pushing much of the merchandise one would typically only find when attending the shows (although Disney Store Times Square does sell some Disney Theatrical merchandise, the kiosk at FAO appears to have several items Disney Store does not).

The kiosk, which is staffed by Disney cast members, is intended to be a special holiday shopping experience for the toy store, known for extravagant experiences, but we were told Disney is hoping to make it a permanent experience at FAO if the holiday season proves its potential.

As a bonus, because the kiosk is run by Disney, they honor all cast member and annual passholder discounts.

FAO Schwarz is also home to the original (and currently only) Muppet Whatnot Workshop where guests can design and receive their very own Muppet-like creation.
