Admittedly we had prematurely announced a release date for Disney/Pixar’s Up on Blu-ray 3D on May 1, but these things happen to all sites now and then and we’ve reached the stage of acceptance. That said, we are now ready to announce a new date for the release, which will be December 4, 2012. This comes to us via Amazon.com which has begun taking pre-orders for the 5 disc set ahead of any official announcement.
Also being released on Blu-ray 3D on December 4, as per Amazon.com, is Finding Nemo. After the theatrical run of the 3D version of the film, which premieres September 14, it will be available to own on Blu-ray 3D in a 5-disc ‘ultimate collectors edition’ set.
No word yet on bonus features for the film which is also making its blu-ray debut, but we will update as that information becomes available to us.
UPDATE #1: 6/1/12 – Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has confirmed that the blu-ray bonus features will consist of ’3D Virtual Aquariums, 2D Virtual Aquariums, CineExplorer, a Filmmaker Roundtable and more.’
