‘The Friendly Sisters’ Join ‘Minnie’s Fly Girls’ at California Adventure; Aladdin Extended

Not much information is provided in the casting call for the newly announced group, but Disney California Adventure has begun casting for a ‘talented trio from the Midwest who epitomize the innocent, optimistic “can-do” America of the 1920s’ called ‘The Friendly Sisters.’

With daily performances slated to begin in May, 2012, the trio will no doubt perform in the Carthay Circle area of the park which is currently under development and will help represent Walt Disney’s Hollywood.

Also performing daily will be Minnie’s Fly Girls Charter Airlines, a quartet who will perform songs from the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s. While we were the first to report on the new entertainment earlier this summer, the new act is now expected to perform beginning in January, 2012.

Lastly, on a related note, casting calls are out for Aladdin at the Hyperion Theatre, promising performances beginning in February for a one year contract (beginning in January), effectively promising the show will remain on the stage throughout 2012.
