A bargain at its full price, the Walt Disney Family Museum, located in The Presidio of San Francisco, is currently being featured on Groupon for up to half off the regular price of admission. Regularly priced at $12 – $20, future visitors can now purchase up to four advanced tickets at the rate of just $10 each (children under the age of six are permitted free admission). The Groupon offer must be redeemed by June 30, 2014 with December 26 – 29 blocked out.
The museum is also currently holding a special exhibition on the art of Tyrus Wong whose paintings famously served as inspiration for the style of Disney’s immortal classic, Bambi. Note admission to the special exhibition requires an additional fee — Groupon says it is $10 while the museum’s website says the surcharge is $5. The Tyrus exhibition will run through February 3, 2014.
Also currently on display is a special exhibition on the work of animator Bruno Bozzetto which runs through March 17, 2014. Although the Museum has yet to officially announce it, as we reported, it will follow the Wong exhibition with one dedicated to Mary Blair, beginning March 13, 2014. You can read more about the Mary Blair exhibition in our original article.
