Orlando local media is reporting on a Massachusetts guest who died yesterday evening at the Orlando Regional Medical Center after being struck by a bus at Disney’s Port Orleans.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Robert Krueger, 69, was walking through a parking lot and into the path of the bus which was carrying guests at the time. No other injuries have been reported.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson, the case will be investigated but charges against the bus driver are unlikely as the victim was not in a crosswalk and the bus had the right of way at the time.
Walt Disney Resort President Meg Crofton issued the following brief statement: “We offer our deepest condolences to the guests’ family and loved ones,” the statement reads. “We are doing all we can for them during this difficult time.”
