In honor of the Blu-ray release of Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Diamond Edition this Tuesday, October 6, we thought we’d spend a little time recognizing the little folk that made it all possible: the dwarfs.
So like the title asks, how well do you know the dwarfs? If you know there’s only seven of them, you’re well on your way! Let’s just see how much more you know about them.
Can you name the seven dwarfs?
Show ▼
Walt Disney did — literally. Before the Disney classic, the dwarfs didn’t actually have names. You know them today as Happy, Dopey, Bashful, Doc, Grumpy, Sleepy and Sneezy, but did you also know that other names were considered? Wheezy, Puffy, Stuffy, Biggo-Ego, Jumpy, Baldy, Nifty, Gabby, Stubby and Burby are just some of the names that ran through the heads’ of the film’s creators.
Which dwarf’s eyebrows were modeled after Walt Disney’s own eyebrows?
Show ▼
Trick question! Well known for his expressive, wandering eyebrows, Walt’s brows served as the inspiration for all of the dwarfs except Happy.
Which dwarf carries a lantern to the mine instead of a pick axe?
Show ▼
Doc. Although the original concept had Dopey carrying the lantern instead.
Finally, who is this tall, bearded, fine-looking fellow?

This concept art from the film is actually a glimpse from the scene in which Dopey stands on Sneezy’s shoulders in order to dance with Snow.
So how did you do? Just for fun, let’s take a peek and see just how well Snow White herself knows the dwarfs
