Earlier today, Amazon.com began listing a title called ‘Disney Universe’ for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii platforms with a release date of May 26, 2011. Subsequently, that information has been removed from Amazon.com’s site (but not before the non-cached pages were picked up by Google).
Not only is it unlikely that a game won’t be announced less than 10 days before its release, but games are traditionally introduced on Tuesdays, which May 26, 2011 is not (nor is it in 2012). That detail is minor, however, as Amazon.com has been known for making mistakes in dating releases before.
According to the description, the game will feature ‘more than 40 classic and contemporary Disney characters including Alice, Mike [Wazowski?], TRON and Stitch’ and include six worlds inspired by Disney and Pixar films where ‘mischief, magic and mayhem reign.’
The game will also allow up to four players to either combine their efforts to defeat enemies and solve puzzles, or work against each other too.
