In honor of today’s earlier release of the first trailer for Finding Dory (June 17, 2016), Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios have provided us with an ultra high resolution still from the film featuring Dory encountering her old friend, Destiny, for the first time all over again. Voiced by Kaitlin Olson, Destiny is a whale shark — so does that make her a whale or a shark? There’s no way science could know for sure. Destiny is just one of Dory’s many new friends in the film such as Hank, Bailey, Little Dory, Gerald and more.

Disney/Pixar’s Finding Dory reunites everyone’s favourite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?

Directed by Andrew Stanton and produced by Lindsey Collins, the film features the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O’Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton. Finding Dory swims into theaters June 17, 2016.

    • Science, I apologize. Of course you’re correct, it was just a little attempt at humor as science has yet to explain to Destiny what she is. I do know a whale shark is a shark. The largest species of fish too if I’m not mistaken.
