After a fairly successful run with The Little Mermaid, Disney will continue bringing its ‘Second Screen Live’ experience to select theaters nationwide. Beginning October 18, Disney will present Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas just in time for Halloween. The Nightmare Before Christmas was actually the first film to receive the special treatment, which has gone through focus testing several times within the past year.
The Apple iPad-specific app, which is required for the experience, was quietly released into Apple’s App store last week. According to the app description, the app lets ‘you become part of the story. Interact with Jack and Oogie as you compete with the audience to see who is the Master of Fright in Halloween Town. Play games, sing-alongs and other fun challenges that test your knowledge of the movie as you try to get the highest score and win prizes.’
- App syncs to big screen movie
- Games include: Xylo-Bones, Brain Scratchers, Finklefinder, Spot The Differences and more!
- Sing Along with on-screen lyrics
- Real-time score keeping
- Interact with Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie
The official DisneySecondScreenLive.com website still promotes The Little Mermaid but it should be redirected to the The Nightmare Before Christmas Second Screen Live site with additional details soon.
