PHOTOS: Idina Menzel Performs ‘Let It Go’ at Disney California Adventure

Last night at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort, Idina Menzel performed ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen to a sold-out crowd. The performance was taped for ABC’s upcoming television special, ‘The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60,’ airing February 21 at 8:00 pm. ABC has released photos from the taping which have been added to our gallery of images from the special below.

Those set to appear on the special alongside Menzel include: Ne-Yo, Little Big Town and Disney legend, Dick Van Dyke. They join an already impressive roster of celebrities and performers including: Alfonso Ribeiro, Ariel Winter, Bryce Dallas Howard, Eric Stonestreet, Ginnifer Goodwin, Dame Helen Mirren, Hilary Duff, Jason Bateman, Jessica Alba, Jimmy Kimmel, John Stamos, Julie Bowen, Kerry Washington, Kiefer Sutherland, Kristen Bell, Lupita Nyong’o, Neil Patrick Harris, Nolan Gould, Pink, Priyanka Chopra, Sabrina Carpenter, Sarah Hyland, Sofia Carson, Ty Burrell, Viola Davis, Zendaya, Harrison Ford, Elton John, Josh Gad, Tori Kelly and Kermit the Frog, Jessie J, Kelsea Ballerini, Witney Carson, Maddie Ziegler and The Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by music and artistic director Gustavo Dudamel.

Musical performances and segments include the following:

  • Elton John will perform ‘The Circle of Life’ from The Lion King as well as debut his new song, ‘Wonderful Crazy Night’
  • ‘Dancing with the Stars’ professional dancer Derek Hough will play host to the special as well as be joined by co-star Witney Carson in a performance as part of Disneyland’s ‘Paint the Night’ parade as well as pay homage to Disney films in a dance medley.
  • Josh Gad will take viewers to places normally closed to Disneyland guests including Walt Disney’s private apartment above the firehouse as well as the Disneyland Dream Suite.
  • Harrison Ford will share new details about the Star Wars themed lands coming to both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World.
  • The Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted by music and artistic director Gustavo Dudamel, will join the celebration performing The Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Walt Disney’s acclaimed animated film Fantasia.
  • Tori Kelly will duet with Kermit the Frog on ‘The Rainbow Connection’ from The Muppet Movie.
  • Jessi J will perform ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ from Pinocchio.
  • Kelsea Ballerini will perform ‘Part of Your World’ from The Little Mermaid, accompanied with dance by ‘Dance Moms’ star and Sia collaborator, Maddie Ziegler, with choreography by Travis Wall.
  • Fall Out Boy will perform ‘I Wanna Be Like You’ from The Jungle Book
  • Little Big Town will perform Steve McQueen from Cars Land
  • Ne-Yo will perform ‘Friend Like Me’ from Aladdin
  • Pentatonix will perform ‘Be Our Guest’ from Beauty and the Beast
  • Derek Hough will sing and dance to ‘Step In Time’ from Mary Poppins alongside Dick Van Dyke
  • Idina Menzel will sing ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen to Disney California Adventure’s ‘Wonderful World of Color’

Fans watching the show at home can participate in Sir Elton’s performance with the Disney Applause app. Using Walt Disney Imagineering’s ‘Made with Magic’ technology, Applause delivers a second screen, interactive experience that will sync directly to the broadcast’s major musical segments, displaying colorful light shows and original content on viewers’ phones. Their display will be in harmony with the illuminated accessories worn by guests and elaborate lighting design during the performance. Fans will also have a rare opportunity to experience this once-in-a-lifetime performance via virtual reality. Through the use of the Jaunt VR app, fans will join in the celebration as they are instantly transported to Sleeping Beauty Castle for the musical superstar’s concert and to Main Street, U.S.A. for a very special dance routine. A 360-degree view of the VR elements will also be available on ABC.com.
