‘Pocahontas,’ ‘Rescuers,’ ‘Aristocats’ and Other Classics on Blu-ray in August

Disney Phineas & Ferb The Movie: Across The 2nd... from FAO Schwarz

While official announcements have yet to be made, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has dated some of the blu-ray adaptations of animated classics from The Walt Disney Company.

Of all the releases this year, the most anticipated is arguably Pocahontas. Coupled with Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World.

The Pocahontas/Pocahontas II blu-ray combo pack will be available to own August 21, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com.

On August 21, 2012, Disney will also release Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamps Adventure, The Rescuers: 35th Anniversary Edition (The Rescuers / The Rescuers Down Under) and The Tigger Movie. Bonus features for the first two releases have not yet been released, but The Tigger Movie Bounce-a-rrrific Special Edition blu-ray is set to include:

  • A Tigger Tale – The Filmmakers share what it’s like to be part of Tigger’s extended family
  • Disney Intermission – Pause the movie and discover fun family games and activities
  • 10 Winnie The Pooh Mini-Adventures (DVD has five)
  • ‘Round My family Tree’ Sing-Along (also on DVD)
  • Kenny Loggins Music Video: ‘Your Heart Will Lead You Home’

Finally — or feline-ly — closing the month’s releases, also on August 21 — is Disney’s The Aristocats. Bonus features will include a virtual kitten game, a ‘newly discovered’ song and more.
