To date, not much has been mentioned so far regarding the 20th anniversary Pixar’s Toy Story (1995), the first full-length computer generated film, though there has been no shortage of expectations for it. So far we’ve been aware of re-issues of merchandise from licensees such as Mattel and Thinkway Toys, but clearly there must be more in store. Surely next week’s D23 Expo should reveal more plans along with the reminiscent panel on Saturday, already announced.
However, ahead of any official announcement, Amazon has begun listing all three movies as single-disc Blu-ray releases with a slated release date of November 29, 2015, inexplicably precisely 20 years and one week from the original theatrical wide-release. Challenging to make this odd decision even odder, there is no listed bundle and each disc clocks in at a retail price of $39.99, suggesting there is much more toy story to be told before long.
As always, we will update with additional information as it becomes available to us.
