‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Plans for Tokyo Disney Resort

The Oriental Land Company, owners and operators of the Tokyo Disney Resort, have announced several special upcoming operational additions in order to support the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (December 18, 2015).

Beginning December 1, 2015, new merchandise themed to the film will be sold at the Resort. Starting in mid-December, eTickets printed at home will sport Star Wars-inspired designs and beginning December 18, R2D2-themed popcorn buckets will go on sale.

Then in February, 2016, like its North American counterparts, Star Tours will introduce a brand new experience inspired by the new film. The special edition of Star Tours will operate for an indefinite period of time before the new scenes inspired by the new film will become part of the regular random rotation. In addition, Star Wars-themed monorail day pass tickets will be introduced for a limited time.
