‘Disney Universe’ New ‘Lion King’ Trailer and Costumes, Box Art Reveals New Costumes

'Disney Universe' by Disney Interactive StudiosIt appears Halloween has come a day early as new information for ‘Disney Universe’ from Disney Interactive Studios has surfaced today rather than the original anticipated date of August 18, otherwise known as Disney D23 Expo-eve. Although we expect to see more character costumes and screenshots within the next day or so, Disney has released a new gameplay trailer featuring The Lion King, one of six worlds that will come with the game initially, with more promised in the way of Downloadable Content on the PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox platforms in the future. Other previously share worlds include Disney/Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. and WALL-E along with Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

We also have our first look at what would appear to be the official box art, courtesy of Amazon.com (now accepting pre-orders with a promised release date of October 31) which also gives us a look at the Captain Jack Sparrow and Jasmine costumes. In the video, we also catch a player dressed as Rafiki (who provides us with a little humor, using the character battling feature).

The game will be on display at Disney D23 Expo, which runs this weekend, August 19-21, at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Included below is our character and screenshot galleries for the game which now includes The Lion King costumes for Scar, Rafiki, Simba, Timon and Pumbaa.
