According to cast member Paul Chadkin, the refurbishments scheduled in January for the Backlot Tour and the Honey I Shrunk The Kids playground at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been postponed, possibly until September.
In addition, the official Walt Disney World site is now reporting that Primeval Whirl in Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been extended with a new re-opening date of April 17, 2011.

The news of the delay for refurbs at the Studios isn’t really surprising, considering they’ve had issues lately with all 3 of their headliners (TSMM, ToT and RnR) opening on time. I’ve heard several times recently that all 3 had delayed openings in the morning due to technical or safety issues. Of course, when this happens, it mean people are wandering the park looking for something to do. So, I can see where taking these attractions down might create a problem for a park that is already short on attractions.
