‘Cinderella’ Diamond Edition to Include ‘Tangled Ever After,’ Second Screen and New Fantasyland Preview

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that Cinderella Diamond Edition will be available to own on Disney Blu-ray/DVD on October 2, 2012 and is now available for pre-order from both Amazon.com and DisneyStore.com (as a 2 disc edition, along with their usual exclusive bonus set of lithographs).

In addition, there will also be a six disc limited edition Cinderella Trilogy boxed set packaged inside a functional jewelry case (also available for pre-order). The boxed set will consist of a the Cinderella blu-ray, a single blu-ray containing both of the sequels (Cinderella, Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True, and Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time) along with individual copies of each on DVD and the digital copy disc). The discs themselves come inside a storybook packaging (Amazon.com has a photo as well as a demo unboxing video).

‘Brave’ Soundtrack to be Released on CD in June; Now Available for Pre-Order

The original motion picture soundtrack to Disney/Pixar’s Brave will be released on June 19, 2012, just three days ahead of the film’s release, according to Amazon. While it’s known that Patrick Doyle has assumed the position of composer for the film’s soundtrack, little else is known regarding what else may be featured on the soundtrack in the way of additional music. According to the film’s article on Wikipedia, the soundtrack will feature a song performed by Julie Fowlis, but the quoted source only mentions that one of her songs was used in the television ad for the film, not that it would necessarily be included on the soundtrack itself (the song used has already been released).

Sneak Peek: ‘Poster Art of the Disney Parks’ by Danny Handke

Arguably one of the most anticipated titles this year amongst Disney theme park enthusiasts, Poster Art of the Disney Parks by Danny Handke and Vanessa Hunt takes a look at more than five decades of attraction posters and concept art from Disney parks around the globe. Featuring a foreword by the Senior Vice President, Creative Development of Walt Disney Imagineering, Tony Baxter, the 144 page, oversized compendium of attraction posters was written by Danny Handke, who serves as an Associate Show Producer for the Tokyo and Hong Kong Parks as well as Disney Cruise Line where he’s worked on projects such as Tokyo’s Goofy’s Paint ‘n’ Play House and the AquaLab aboard the Disney Fantasy. Also contributing to the book is Imagineer Vanessa Hunt who serves at the Art Library at Walt Disney Imagineering.

Disney Donates $500,000 to National Park Foundation Programs

In celebration of National Park Week, the National Park Foundation – the official charity of America’s national parks – today received a $500,000 grant from the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund to help connect kids and families to nature through America’s national parks. Disney’s investment will go specifically to the National Park Foundation’s “Ticket to Ride” and “America’s Best Idea” programs, which will help kids explore the outdoors by providing transportation to and supporting community projects at national parks around the country.

Disneynature ‘See “Chimpanzee,” Save Chimpanzees’ Campaign Extended

Swinging into theaters April 20 with a $10.6 million opening-weekend performance, Chimpanzee proved so popular among audiences that Disneynature is extending the “See Chimpanzee, Save Chimpanzees” conservation initiative for a second week. For every moviegoer who sees Chimpanzee through May 3, 2012, Disneynature will make a donation to the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund to protect chimpanzees today and tomorrow.

“In theaters just five days, Chimpanzee has already given us a lot to celebrate,” said Alan Bergman, president, The Walt Disney Studios. “Led by a young chimpanzee named Oscar, Chimpanzee has won the hearts of audiences nationwide. It’s because of that success that we decided to extend our program with the Jane Goodall Institute.”
