‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ ‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’ Announced for San Diego Comic-Con

ABC will be bringing star power to Comic-Con 2013, with its returning fan favorite “Once Upon a Time,” as well as two new highly anticipated series debuting this fall, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” and “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.”

On Friday, July 19, Marvel Television will introduce fans to their first live action television epic with their new ABC series, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” featuring a panel with executive producer Joss Whedon and Marvel’s Head of Television and series executive producer Jeph Loeb. The show will also be spotlighted at the Marvel Entertainment Booth on the Convention Center floor throughout the entire weekend, with special surprises to be announced.

Walt Disney Animation Studios has provided us with hi-res versions of recently released first look images at its upcoming Thanksgiving film, Frozen, in theaters on November 27, 2013. The gallery is embedded below.

Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph, presents Frozen, a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey — teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven –to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (Josh Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom. The film also stars the vocal talents of Santino Fontana (as Hans) and Alan Tudyk (as Duke of Weselton).

‘I Didn’t Do It’ Starring Olivia Holt to Air on Disney Channel in 2014

Disney Channel has ordered the comedy series “I Didn’t Do It” starring popular actress and recent Radio Disney Music Award winner Olivia Holt (Disney XD’s “Kickin’ It,” and the Disney Channel Original Movie “Girl Vs. Monster” for which she recorded the song “Had Me @Hello”) and newcomer Austin North (“A.N.T. Farm,” “Kickin’ It”), it was announced today by Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide. The multi-camera series will begin production this summer in Los Angeles for a scheduled early 2014 premiere on Disney Channel.

Tokyo Disney Announces New Castle Projection Show, Reimagined ‘The Little Mermaid’ Show

Mermaid Lagoon Theater Concept ArtThe Oriental Land Company, owner and operator of the Tokyo Disney Resort located in Chiba, Tokyo announced entertainment additions, changes and termination of several entertainment opportunities in both its Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea theme parks.

Following in the footsteps of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland’s Cinderella Castle will become the focal point of a new night-time projection-mapping show titled ‘Once Upon A Time.’ With an investment of approximately 2 billion yen (US $21.1 million), the fifteen minute show will open mid-2014 and will include special effects such as on-stage pyrotechnics while using music and imagery from many of Disney’s animated classics such as Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland.

Disney Consumer Products Talks Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Others in 2014 and Beyond

During an exclusive presentation at the annual Licensing Expo 2013 trade show, Bob Chapek, president of Disney Consumer Products, announced the formal inclusion of Lucasfilm licensing into DCP’s extensive franchise portfolio. Chapek also outlined the division’s strategy of bringing a more consumer-centric focus to DCP by aligning Disney’s expansive library of content with each consumer segment, focusing on technology and product innovation and on long-term franchise development.
