Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have shared with us a few new hi-res stills from Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3, in theaters on May 3, 2013. Of particular interest is the image of a smirking Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce), founder of Extremis developer A.I.M, entering the Stark Industries Headquarters with right-hand-woman Pepper Potts (Paltrow) not looking quite as pleased. The other stills feature Stark hard at work in what appears to be a garage/shed of some sort (with what appears to be a bit of the Iron Man suit lurking in the background) and Stark (in Team A.I.M. clothing) alongside Rhodes (Cheadle).

The new images have been added to the beginning of our gallery below. As always, click on the thumbnail to see a larger version. If the resize arrow appears, you may click it to see the image in its original resolution.

Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ Clip – ‘China Girl Joins the Party’

China Girl (voiced by Joey King); James Franco, right ©Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Courtesy of Walt Disney Studios New Zealand, we have a new clip from Disney’s upcoming Oz the Great and Powerful (in theaters March 8) titled ‘China Girl Joins the Party.’ Although we have seen many photos of China Girl to date, this is the first clip that actually shows her talking and interacting with fellow Ozians. In this case, it’s Oscar Diggs/Oz (James Franco) and Finley (voice of Zach Braff) after encountering her in China Town while in pursuit of the Wicked Witch of the West.

As an aside, considering Franco is the only tangible actor in this scene, China Girl actually had a stand-in on the set in the form of an actual (and very complicated) marionette by Philip Huber. For the film, the puppet’s performance was replaced by a CG character whose face digitally incorporates that of Joey King, the actress who voices her.

Disney’s fantastical adventure Oz The Great and Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot — fame and fortune are his for the taking — that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity — and even a bit of wizardry — Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.

EXCLUSIVE: Dane Cook to Lead Disney’s ‘Planes’

(Pictured) DUSTY. ©Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved.Walt Disney Studios and DisneyToon Studios are expected to announced today that comedian-slash-actor Dane Cook will be replacing Jon Cryer as the voice of Dusty Crophopper, the the protagonist of its upcoming theatrical release Planes. This news comes just as a new trailer for the film is expected (and previously leaked online), featuring the characters speaking for the first time.

Inspired by the world of Cars from Pixar Animation Studios, Disney’s Planes is an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure featuring Dusty (voice of Dane Cook), a plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing — and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar.

The only other reported (unconfirmed) voice talent in the film belongs to Carlos Alazraqui as the voice of El Chupacabra (El Chupa for short), Brad Garrett as Chug and Stacy Keach as Skipper. It is unknown at this time when these and additional voice talent for characters such as Ripslinger, Bravo and Echo, amongst other peripheral characters will be announced/confirmed.

Disney’s Planes has an estimated time of arrival in theaters on August 9, 2013 and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D in select theaters. It is directed by Klay Hall.

UPDATE: Walt Disney Studios has now confirmed the casting and has released a new still from the film, pictured above.

‘Monsters University’ Poster Full of Character, Intrigue

'Monsters University' Character PosterA new international poster for Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University has been released and it’s chock full of characters from the film along with several confirmations (such as Randy Boggs (aka Randall) being affiliated with the Roar Omega Roar (ROR) fraternity as well as George Sanderson being in Jaws Theta Chi (JOX)), but what’s perhaps most telling is that none of the Omega Kappa (OK) students are in their respective uniforms. Instead, Mike, Sulley, Don, Squishy, Terri & Terry and Art all simply appear in clothing reading Monsters University. This and the fact that Omega Kappa’s fraternity house is actually in the basement of Squishy’s Mom’s house starts to make one wonder just how official OK starts out.

Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

Screaming with laughter and fun, Monsters University stars the vocal talents of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Dave Foley, Julia Sweeney, Joel Murray and Peter Sohn and is directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae. The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ Cast, Pairings Announced; Season Premieres March 18

This season’s dynamic lineup of stars — including a country music legend, a figure skating champion, a boxing dynamo, an Olympic Gold medalist and the youngest contestant to ever compete on the show – will perform for the first time on live national television with their professional partners during the two-hour season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars,” MONDAY, MARCH 18 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

As announced this morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America” by “Dancing with the Stars” hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet, the 11 celebrities, with their professional partners, heading to the dance floor this season (in alphabetical order) are:

ZENDAYA COLEMAN — Multi-talented actress and singer Zendaya Coleman stars as Raquel “Rocky” Blue, one half of the comedic duo in the hit Disney Channel series “Shake It Up!,” and is currently recording her debut album on Hollywood Records. Born September 1, 1996, in Oakland, California, Coleman grew up as part of the California Shakespeare Theater in Orinda, where her mother works as the House Manager. In addition to training at the theater’s student conservatory program and later performing in numerous stage productions, Coleman helped her mom seat patrons and sell raffle tickets to benefit the theater. While attending the Oakland School for the Arts, she starred as Little Ti Moune in “Once on This Island” at the Berkley Playhouse, and in the breakout role of the male character Joe in “Caroline, or Change” at Palo Alto’s TheaterWorks. She also studied at the CalShakes Conservatory program and at the American Conservatory Theater. Coleman has performed around the world, including at the White House and in the 2011 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and she tours select cities with her Z-Swagg Dancers and Singers. The name Zendaya is derived from the word that means “to give thanks” in Shona (a Bantu language native to the Shona people of Zimbabwe). Coleman has been a fashion model for Macy’s, Mervyns and Old Navy, and was also one of the back-up dancers in a Sears commercial featuring Disney Channel star Selena Gomez. She now resides in Los Angeles, California with her family and dog, a giant Schnauzer named Midnight. ZENDAYA COLEMAN partners with VAL CHMERKOVSKIY.

ANDY DICK — Andy Dick is an American comedian, actor, writer, director, musician and producer. Dick grew up in the Chicago area, where he was involved in numerous stage productions. During his senior year of high school, his love of performing proved decisive, as he was elected homecoming king. His first regular television role was on the short-lived but influential “Ben Stiller Show.” Dick was a mainstay on network television from 1995-2006 on NBC’s “NewsRadio” and ABC’s “Less Than Perfect.” In 2001 he wrote, directed, produced and starred in “The Andy Dick Show” for MTV. He has also starred in a number of feature films, including “In the Army Now,” “Employee of the Month” and “The Hebrew Hammer.” In addition he has made memorable appearances in feature films such as “Zoolander,” “The Cable Guy,” “Inspector Gadget,” “Road Trip,” “Dude, Where’s My Car?,” “Old School” and “Funny People.” Most recently Dick has had guest appearances on NBC’s “Community,” FX’s “Legit,” the Netflix original series “Bad Samaritans” and CBS’ “Two Broke Girls.” He can regularly be seen performing at theaters and comedy clubs across the country. ANDY DICK joins first-time professional partner SHARNA BURGESS.

DOROTHY HAMILL — Dorothy Hamill captured the Gold medal at the 1976 Winter Games in Innsbruck, Austria at the age of 19. Overnight she became one of those rare champions who transcends her sport and captures the country’s imagination. Still, she has said she is most proud of her World Championship title in Gothenburg, Sweden, which followed her Olympic win; at the time, everyone advised her to retire from amateur competition, saying that even a second-place finish would tarnish the lustre of her Olympic Gold. Characteristically, once she had set her mind to it, she would not be dissuaded, and she won. As a professional Hamill has skated with many productions, including the Ice Capades for eight years. Four ABC primetime television specials have been produced in her honor, and she has produced and starred in her own touring productions of “Cinderella – Frozen in Time,” “Hansel, Gretel, the Witch and the Cat” and “Nutcracker on Ice.” She won an Emmy Award for her lead role in “Romeo and Juliet.” Hamill has been inducted into the Olympic Hall of Fame and the Figure Skating Hall of Fame. She was very proud to run the torch at Olympic Stadium in Salt Lake City in 2002 and to skate the closing ceremonies with vocalist Harry Connick Jr. Recently she released her memoir, A Skating Life: My Story, which made the New York Times bestseller list. DOROTHY HAMILL partners with TRISTAN MacMANUS.

D.L. HUGHLEY — D.L Hughley, one of the most popular and highly recognized standup comedians on the road today, has also made quite an impression in the television, film and radio arenas. He can be seen in the comedic documentary special for Comedy Central entitled “D.L. Hughley: The Endangered List.” Known for being astute and politically savvy, Hughley served as host of the late-night talk show “D.L. Hughley Breaks the News” on CNN. He was both star and producer of his namesake television show that ran on ABC and UPN, “The Hughleys.” One of the standout comedians of the hit comedy docu-film “The Original Kings of Comedy” and a veteran of numerous talk show appearances, Hughley switched the tables in 2005, hosting his own talk show, “Weekends at the DL,” on Comedy Central. In addition he has headlined several comedy specials, including “D.L. Hughley: Going Home,” “D.L. Hughley Live,” “Shocked & Appalled” and the recent “Unapologetic.” D.L. HUGHLEY partners with CHERYL BURKE.

JACOBY JONES — Jacoby Jones is a professional football player for the Baltimore Ravens, the 2013 Super Bowl Champions. He began his professional career after being drafted by the Houston Texans in 2009 and was signed by the Baltimore Ravens in 2012. Career highlights include matching an NFL record with a 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Jones is also the first Raven to post multiple kickoff returns for a touchdown in one season, and is the current record holder for the longest touchdown at the Super Bowl. Charting countless singles, including 20 No. 1 hits and over 60 industry awards, the iconic performer was once dubbed by Rolling Stone “the greatest female country singer since Patsy Cline.” Joined in the studio by her husband, bandleader and producer Michael “Cactus” Moser, Judd’s highly anticipated eighth studio album is scheduled for release this year. This effort, a true labor of love, features her upcoming single “Something You Can’t Live Without,” released by Curb Records. Most recently she published a novel, Restless Heart, and was part of “The Judds” docu-series on OWN. WYNONNA JUDD partners with TONY DOVOLANI.

VICTOR ORTIZ — Victor Ortiz is a living, breathing example of the American dream. As former Welterweight boxing champion, Ortiz finally found his life’s calling as a world class athlete. The album earned recognition as one of the “Best of 2012″ by Rolling Stone and The Washington Post. She has performed on six USO Tours, including one to Afghanistan in December 2012. In her career Raisman has accumulated 19 international medals and eight U.S. Senior National Championship medals, earning a reputation as one of Team USA’s most consistent performers. The eldest of four kids in her family, she comes from a Jewish background and famously performed her Gold medal-winning floor exercise to the traditional Jewish wedding song, “Hava Nagila,” for which she earned worldwide recognition in the Jewish community. ‘Paperman’ Scores Oscar, Inspires Antics During and After Win

John Kahrs, Kristina Reed © AMPASTo virtually no one’s surprise, the revolutionary Paperman short from Walt Disney Animation Studios claimed the industry’s top honor for Short Film (Animated). Director John Kahrs (pictured, left) took to the stage to receive the accolades with a short, yet sincere speech.

Meanwhile, according to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Kristina Reed (also pictured, left) decided to celebrate the win by tossing kiss-accented paper planes into the audience from her seat in the mezzanine. Although none of the projectiles appeared to approach the stage, Reed was reportedly temporarily ejected from the Dolby Theatre, only to return a few minutes later after a ‘small protest.’

After exiting the stage, Kahrs — still fresh from his win — continued on to the press tent where winners entertained a few questions from the accredited press, chosen by lottery for each winner. It was here that Kahrs encountered actor David Arquette who received his credentials via the Howard Stern show on Sirius/XM satellite radio. Among several questions from other reporters actually relevant to the short (for which Kahrs remained humble and spoke highly of his fellow animators at the studio), Arquette contributed the following exchange:

DA: I’m an actor, David Arquette.

JK: I recognized you.

DA:I do lots of voices. I can do a low voice. I can do a high voice.

JK: This is my next step, actually, because I didn’t use any words so this is the thing I’m terrified of is actually putting voices in the animations.

DA: So put nice actors but, you know, because you have to stay in the room with them. But what are you most excited about in your Oscar gift basket?

JK: Actually, the Oscar gift basket was very modest.

DA: But there were condoms in there. If you don’t use them, I can use them, bro.

When he’s not hitting up Oscar winners for their loot, Arquette provides the voice of Skully, the parrot from Disney Junior’s ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’ which is produced by Disney Television Animation, located at the Walt Disney Studios, across the street from the Feature Animation building.
