‘Monsters University’ Sulley at Build-A-Bear Workshop

In support of Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, Build-A-Bear Workshop is now offering a 17″ Sulley that can be ordered online, or made in person at Build-A-Bear Workshop locations.

Sulley can be clad in his very own Monsters University letterman’s jacket (available separately or bundled with Sulley). Of course Sulley wouldn’t have nothing if he didn’t have the 11″ Mini Mike Wazowski to pal around with. Also available is a Monsters University tee for regularly sized Build-A-Bear furry friends.

‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ Screening and Panel for Disneyland Passholders

The Disneyland Resort has announced it will be hosting a 25th Anniversary screening and panel for Who Framed Roger Rabbit for its Annual Passholders at the AMC Theatre located in its Downtown Disney district on Tuesday, June 18 at 8:00 pm PT.

The panel will be moderated by associate producer Don Hahn and is expected to include Director of Special Projects at Walt Disney Feature Animation, Dave Bossert, Visual Effects Animator on Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Charles Fleischer, the voice of Roger Rabbit.

Registration and wristband distribution for the event will begin at 12:00 noon on the day of the event at the AMC 12 Theaters in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. All participating Guests (ages 3 and older) must be valid Annual Passholders on the day of the event. Guests under the age of 3 do not need an Annual Pass, but will need a wristband to attend the event.

‘Super Buddies’ Extended Clip: ‘Learning Super Powers’

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released an extended clip titled ‘Learning Super Powers’ from its direct-to-video Super Buddies on Blu-ray, available to own of August 27, 2013.

An ordinary day at Fernfield Farms turns extraordinary when Budderball, Mudbud, B-Dawg, Buddha and Rosebud discover mysterious rings that grant them each a unique super power. Before you can say, ‘Buddies, assemble,’ the pups unleash their amazing abilities and race to the rescue when a shape-shifting bully from outer space threatens the planet. But can they succeed in kicking major tail without revealing their new secret identities?

A must-own movie event packed with laughter, action and incredible new characters, Super Buddies proves that when you use your wits and work together, you don’t need super powers to be a super hero!

Super Buddies stars John Ratzenberger, Michael Teigen, Jason Earles and more.

The movie’s fantastic voice cast includes Colin Hanks, John Michael Higgins, Atticus Shaffer, Alyson Stoner, Maulik Pancholy, Chris Coppola, Amy Sedaris, Zendaya, Debra Jo Rupp, and the legendary Tim Conway as the voice of Deputy Sniffer. The ‘Buddies’ voices include Cooper Roth who voices B-Dawg; Tenzing Trainor who voices Buddha; Jeremy Shinder who voices Budderball; Ty Panitz who voices Mudbud; and G. Hannelius who voices Rosebud.

Super Buddies is directed by Robert Vince, written and produced by Robert Vince and Anna McRoberts.

The movie will be supported by a junior novelization and a sticker & activity book, both available July 16.

Carly Rae Jepsen to Record ‘Part of Your World’ for ‘The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition’

This October 1, The Walt Disney Studios animated classic The Little Mermaid becomes a part of our world like never before as an all-new Diamond Edition release. To celebrate the return of the movie that gave voice to a whole generation, Disney has teamed up with the voice of a new generation, Grammy®-nominated music superstar Carly Rae Jepsen, to record a new version of The Little Mermaid’s beloved song ‘Part of Your World,’ which will appear as a music video on the upcoming Diamond Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack releases.

Canadian singer/songwriter and breakout pop sensation, Carly Rae Jepsen burst onto the scene with her Top Ten U.S. debut album Kiss and its global smash hit ‘Call Me Maybe,’ which held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for nine consecutive weeks and climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Singles charts in more than 47 countries, while her music videos have amassed over 600 million VEVO views. Jepsen won the 2012 American Music Award for Best New Artist and received two 2012 GRAMMY Award nominations for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year. Her new single, ‘Tonight I’m Getting Over You,’ The Remix ft. Nicki Minaj from her Top Ten debut album Kiss is out now. D23 Expo: Disney Channel Reveals Planned Screenings, Performances

Several sources including Variety and TV Guide are reporting some of what Disney Channel is planning for the 2013 D23 Expo, taking place August 9-11 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

On August 9, Disney Channel will screen its upcoming ‘Phineas and Ferb’ special (and Marvel crossover), ‘Mission Marvel.’ The following day, fans will be able to mingle with some of the stars from the Disney Channel Original Movie Teen Beach Movie during a ‘surf crazy’ dance at the Disney Channel booth. Other screenings are set to include a preview of the new animated series, ‘Wonder Over Yonder,’ as well as never-before-seen Mickey Mouse shorts.

Scheduled musical performances include Bridgit Mendler (‘Good Luck Charlie’) and R5 with Ross Lynch (‘Austin and Ally’).

Scheduled Disney Channel star autograph sessions include: ‘Crash & Bernstein’s’ Cole Jensen and Tim Lagasse; ‘Lab Rats’’ Tyrel Jackson Williams and Billy Unger; ‘Kickin’ It’s’ Jason Earles, Leo Howard and Olivia Holt; ‘A.N.T. ‘Independence Week’ Limited Time Magic, Fourth of July Events Announced for Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World today announced its celebration plans for July 4, 2013, as well as what it calls ‘Independence Week’ (July 1-7), part of its year-long ‘Limited Time Magic’ campaign.

All week long, Walt Disney World will present its special fireworks program, ‘Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky’ at the Magic Kingdom, described as a ’15-minute 360-degree fireworks spectacular.’ Prior to the daily afternoon parade, ‘Celebrate a Dream Come True,’ Goofy, Donald and Pluto will lead a spirited procession down Main Street, U.S.A. The rousing pre-parade also features the Main Street Philharmonic, Citizens of Main Street and Walt Disney’s historic horse-drawn calliope. Patriotic-themed merchandise and tasty treats inspired by Americana will also be on the menu all week long.

Plans for the individual parks for Independence Day only include:

Epcot: Discovery Experiences at American Adventure spotlight American history and heritage. Guests can meet with Disney characters adorned in patriotic dress. An afternoon of live entertainment kicks off at 12:30 pm in the America Gardens Theatre with the Voices of Liberty Fourth of July concert. This holiday special is a harmonizing partnership of the eight-part, a capella Voices of Liberty, Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps and Disney characters. The Heartbeat of Freedom, a special tribute following IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth lights up the sky at 10 p.m.

Characters in patriotic dress are on set from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and from 3:30 – 6 p.m. outside near Kidcot (under the porte-cochere)
Voices of Liberty showtimes at America Gardens Theatre are 12:30, 1:45, and 3 p.m. They are also doing two sets inside the American Adventure Rotunda at 4:15 and 5 p.m.
Special showtimes for Slippery When Wet (Sounds Like Summer concert series) on the Fourth of July are 5:15, 6:30, 7:45, and 9 p.m.

Disney Hollywood Studios: Enjoy a twist on traditional fireworks with the all-new ‘Rockin’ 4th of July Celebration.’ The party begins at the Sorcerer Hat with a DJ at 6 pm. At 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m., Mulch, Sweat & Shears will take you on a musical road trip through America. Everything leads up to a special rock ‘n roll fireworks presentation at 10:15 p.m.

FIRST LOOK: ‘The Little Mermaid’ Vinylmation Series

With The Little Mermaid 3D Diamond Edition coming to Blu-ray later this year, the spotlight will be shifting to Ariel this holiday season, much like it had for Cinderella last year. We will soon have plenty more news on this holiday’s offerings when Disney Consumer Products invites us to a sneak peek later this month, but for now here’s a sneak peek at just one of the many exciting items to come: The Little Mermaid Vinylmation series.

A full set of twelve, packed in blind boxes, you can see the entire series minus the chaser here. Included are Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian, Flounder, Max, Scuttle, King Triton, Ursula, Grut, Grimsby and Carlotta. While several of these characters have been released before individually as part of other series, here they are united with each other through several common elements, such as the ‘under the sea’ characters which feature some seaweed/sludge at their ~~feet~~ fins.

No word on who the chaser may be, but it’s painfully obvious that Flotsam and Jetsam are missing, though we’ll be mighty miffed if it’s not Vanessa.
