‘Paperman’ Now Available for Free Online Viewing

Walt Disney Animation Studios has uploaded its Oscar-nominated short, Paperman to YouTube, allowing it to be watched online in its entirety for the first time.

Introducing a groundbreaking technique that seamlessly merges computer-generated and hand-drawn animation techniques, first-time director John Kahrs takes the art of animation in a bold new direction with Paperman. Using a minimalist black-and-white style, the short follows the story of a lonely young man in mid-century New York City, whose destiny takes an unexpected turn after a chance meeting with a beautiful woman on his morning commute. Convinced the girl of his dreams is gone forever, he gets a second chance when he spots her in a skyscraper window across the avenue from his office. With only his heart, imagination and a stack of papers to get her attention, his efforts are no match for what the fates have in store for him. Created by a small, innovative team working at Walt Disney Animation Studios, Paperman pushes the animation medium in an exciting new direction.

‘Disney twenty-three’ to Feature ‘Oz,’ ‘Maleficent’, ‘Frozen’, Plus Animal Kingdom’s 15th and More

The spring issue of Disney twenty-three, the flagship magazine of D23: The Official Disney FanClub, hits stands February 12, loaded with articles to delight both Disney fans and the general public. The cover story, ‘A Great and Powerful Odyssey,’ gives readers an exclusive tour of the land at the end of the road of yellow bricks in Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful releasing in theaters this March. The article features interviews with stars Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff. ‘Frozen in Time’ includes concept art from the upcoming film Frozen, due in theaters this November. Walt Disney Animation Studios brings an ice-covered world to life as Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) seeks to reverse a curse put on her kingdom by a cold-hearted snow queen (voiced by Idina Menzel), who also happens to be her sister.

First Image: Ricky Gervais in ‘The Muppets… Again!’ Plus Synopsis

Via the official Walt Disney Studios UK Facebook page, we get what appears to be our first publicity still at the upcoming sequel The Muppets… Again! which will debut in theaters on March 21st, 2014. The still features human star Ricky Gervais alongside Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog.

The filmmaking team behind 2011’s celebrated film The Muppets reunites as Disney’s The Muppets … Again! kicked off production last week in London. The all-new global Muppets adventure welcomes Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey to the mayhem, along with Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Walter and the rest of the Muppets. The film is directed by James Bobin, who was just nominated for a BAFTA for The Muppets (Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer), and produced by the Academy Award®-nominated team of David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. With a screenplay by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller, who is also executive producer with John Scotti, The Muppets … Again! will feature music from Academy Award®-winning songwriter Bret McKenzie, who won an Oscar® for best original song for The Muppets (‘Man or Muppet’). The new film will hit the big screen March 21, 2014.

Disney’s The Muppets…Again! takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. ‘We Are Doc McStuffins’ Interstitials Highlight Black History Month on Disney Junior

Beginning February 1, 2013, Disney Channel and Disney Junior will begin running interstitials titled ‘We Are Doc McStuffins’ in celebration of black history month. The campaign is inspired by and features Dr. Myiesha Taylor, Dr. Aletha Maybank and Dr. Naeemah Ghafur, who created the ‘We Are Doc McStuffins’ movement to celebrate women of color who are doctors, meant to inspire youth.

In support of the Disney Junior series, Dr. Taylor collected pictures of 131 African-American women physicians and sent them in a collage to Disney. Taylor also founded the Artemis Medical Society to provide mentoring, networking opportunities and advocacy for women doctors.

The interstitials will begin airing on Disney Channel and Disney Junior on Friday, February 1 at 10:25 am ET/PT and 4:25 pm ET/PT respectively.

’1952′ with George Clooney Re-titled ‘Tomorrowland’

The Walt Disney Studios has announced that its live-action release previously known as 1952 will be titled Tomorrowland. The film will be released domestically on December 19, 2014. George Clooney (The Descendants) is set to star.

Tomorrowland is written by Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird from a concept by Lindelof and Jeff Jensen. Lindelof (Star Trek, Lost, Prometheus) will produce and Bird (The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) will produce and direct.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ Celebrates ‘Making Disney Memories Week’ with Characters, Vacation Prizes and More

It’s ‘Disney Time’ at Wheel of Fortune as the fun of America’s Favorite Game Show and the magic of Disney come together in the game show’s 30th season for a fully-integrated multiplatform collaboration including a week of shows and a sweepstakes for at-home viewers.

‘Wheel of Fortune Making Disney Memories Week’ airing January 28-Feb 1, 2013, will feature a custom set including three different scenes depicting Sleeping Beauty Castle, Cinderella Castle and the Disney Dream cruise ship.
