‘LEGO Star Wars: The Resistance Rises’ Pre-‘The Force Awakens’ Series Debuts Monday

‘Poe to the Rescue’ is the first episode in ‘LEGO Star Wars: The Resistance Rises,’ a series of all-new animated shorts that take place prior to the First Order’s attack on Jakku and tell never-before-told stories including Kylo Ren, Han Solo, Finn, Rey, BB-8, Maz Kanata and more.

‘Frozen’ Broadway Musical to Play at Denver Center for Performing Arts in August 2017

Frozen, a new musical based on Disney’s Academy Award®-winning musical film and slated to join Disney hits Aladdin and The Lion King on Broadway in spring 2018, will play its out-of-town tryout at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in August 2017. Frozen won 2014 Oscars® for Best Song (“Let It Go”) and Best Animated Feature.

Last night at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort, Idina Menzel performed ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen to a sold-out crowd. The performance was taped for ABC’s upcoming television special, ‘The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60,’ airing February 21 at 8:00 pm. ABC has released photos from the taping which have been added to our gallery of images from the special below.

TFNY: ‘The Force Awakens’ Rey and BB-8 Large Scale Action Figures from JAKKS Pacific Sneak Peek

Star Wars 18 inch Rey Big Figs from JAKKS PacificJust ahead of the New York International Toy Fair in New York City this weekend, JAKKS Pacific has announced it will be expanding its Star Wars line of Big-Figs to include Rey (seen here) as well as BB-8.

The pair are the newest entries to the popular line of oversized, articulated action figures which have already included Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Kylo Ren, First Order Storm Troopers, Boba Fett and many more, including characters from ‘Star Wars Rebels.’

Rey stands tall (on her own, thankyouverymuch) at nearly 20″ while the BB-8 will be virtually life-size at a whopping 31″ height and will feature lights, sounds, a retracting tool arm and optional stabilizer pegs for display.

CONFIRMED: ‘Doc McStuffins’ to Add Adopted Sibling in March

GRANDMA, DOC, MOM, DONNY, DADConfirming earlier reports by Stitch Kingdom, Disney Junior has announced that a new multi-episode story arc premiering March 4 on Disney Channel will feature an addition to the McStuffins family. In the clip below, Mom explains to Doc that her new sibling won’t arrive in the way she and her brother did, but instead will be adopted into their ‘forever family.’

Experts Adam Pertman, President and Founder of the National Center on Adoption and Permanency and author of ‘Adoption Nation,’ and David Brodzinsky, Ph.D., Director of Research, National Center on Adoption and Permanency, and Professor Emeritus of Clinical and Developmental Psychology, Rutgers University, served as consultants on the episodes.

SPECULATION: ‘Pete’s Dragon’ Remake Trailer to Debut During Disneyland Special on ABC

Pete's DragonIf you hadn’t seen the presentation at the Disney D23 Expo last year, you might have reason to believe that Disney’s Pete’s Dragon remake is as imaginary as Elliott himself. With the movie debuting on August 12, 2016, Disney marketing has had its hands full with films like The Finest Hours, Zootopia, Captain America: Civil War, The Jungle Book, Alice Through The Looking Glass, Finding Dory and The BFG to promote. Yet the public has still seen more of Moana and Doctor Strange than it has of Pete’s Dragon — not even a first look image.

‘Frozen’ Musical to Replace ‘Toy Story’ on Disney Cruise Line’s Wonder in 2016

FULL DISCLOSURE: Although Disney Cruise Line has stopped short of outright saying so, recent casting calls have announced a new show coming to the Disney Wonder (presumably to replace ‘Toy Story’ whose closure has already been announced). The ‘new’ roles, described below, are scheduled to begin in late summer of 2016.

The following has been officially announced: the new show will be directed by noted Broadway director Sheryl Kaller (‘Mothers and Sons’ and ‘Next Fall’) and choreographed by Joshua Prince (Carole King’s ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Shrek’).
