Earlier today, LEGO Ideas announced that the LEGO version of Wall-E that was submitted to its community for consideration to become an actual LEGO production set has been approved. After reaching 10,000 community supporters back in July of 2014 — which in it of itself is no small feat — the proposed model was then passed on to the review board to consider the feasibility of the project, which of course would include Disney’s own blessings. The announcement today, which also included a ‘Dr. Who’ themed set among several other applicants that didn’t make the cut, confirmed that LEGO Wall-E will soon find its way on the shelf, although LEGO says it’s too soon to share any further details about the project. Hopefully the model will be on display at LEGO’s collector’s event at New York Toy Fair which takes place later this month as they did with the Ghostbusters Ecto-One set, another LEGO Ideas graduate.
