Before Hasbro begins producing Disney Princess and Frozen dolls for Disney in 2016, they will debut a full line of dolls and accessories for the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie, ‘Descendants.’ At a recent visit to their International Toy Fair showroom in New York City, we got a preview of the full line of dolls and accessories that will launch later this year in support of the film. The dolls were presented in a fun, immersive environment which also featured a couple of the props used in the film (and reproduced as doll accessories). Below you will find a gallery of our photos from the event as well as a video tour and close-up looks at each of the dolls.
If fellow Disney pirate Jack Sparrow were ever to encounter Jake from Disney Junior’s ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates,’ he might provide the following sage advice: there should be a captain in there somewhere. This summer, Jake will get his day as he gets a promotion and a brand new ship in an upcoming television event. Titled ‘Mystery of the Mighty Colossus,’ Fisher-Price has previewed an 2-feet tall playset of the Mighty Colossus featuring a figurine of the new Captain Jake. Disney XD has ordered a second season of Disney Television Animation’s animated comedy adventure ‘Star vs. The Forces of Evil’ ahead of the series premiere on Monday, March 30 at 8:00 pm ET/PT. Initial fan response in terms of fan art was cited as the reason for the announcement.
Created and executive-produced by 2009 California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) graduate Daron Nefcy, ‘Star vs. The Forces of Evil’ follows fiercely awesome teen princess Star Butterfly. After receiving an all-powerful magic wand for her 14th birthday, Star is sent by her Royal Parents to live with the Diaz family on Earth, bringing along her own unique inter-dimensional style to her new home. Together with the Diaz’s teenage son, Marco, they navigate high school and embark on dimension-hopping adventures across the multiverse while keeping her wand out of the clutches of arch-nemesis Ludo and his monstrous forces of evil.
