Production has begun in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on the music-driven “Lemonade Mouth,” a Disney Channel Original Movie that tells kids and tweens that building your confidence rocks and finding your destiny rules. The story follows five disparate high school students who meet in detention, realize they are destined to rock, and ultimately form a band that becomes a champion for students sidelined by the high school elite.
The movie was written by April Blair based on the book Lemonade Mouth by Mark Peter Hughes, and is directed by award-winning Patricia Riggen (“La Misma Luna” aka “Under the Same Moon”) and executive-produced by Debra Martin Chase (“The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” Disney Channel’s “The Cheetah Girls” movies) and choreographed by Chris Scott. It is scheduled to premiere in 2011 on Disney Channel.
Once again, D23 members and one guest are being invited to join Disney D23 at the exclusive Mickey’s of Glendale shop located at Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, California on August 21. This time, however, Disney D23 is bringing a guest of its own in the form of Disney Legend and former Imagineering Ambassador Marty Sklar, the only individual to open all eleven Disney Parks worldwide.
Marty will be on hand to sign copies of the newly released volume Walt Disney Imagineering — A Behind the Dreams Look at Making More Magic Real from 10 am – 12 pm.
D23 is reporting that Tinker Bell will receive her very own star on the world famous Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 21.
Tink will be joining the likes of other ‘fictional’ Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Snow White, Winnie-the-Pooh and Kermit the Frog. Also to be found along the Walk of Fame are two stars for Walt Disney and a special, unprecedented star for Disneyland itself, awarded for its 50th anniversary.
We will publish additional information as it becomes available to us, but as for the star’s location, we are quite certain it will be the second star to the right of somewhere.

Among those profiled on the Before and After edition of ABC’s 20/20 on Friday, August 6:
- David Smith, a former friendless shut-in who once weighed 630 lbs, lost an astounding 401 lbs with the help of his first true friend, a fitness trainer named Chris Powell. Not only did Powell help with the weight loss, he was instrumental in helping Smith – painfully shy and awkward around women – hit the singles scene in search of true love. Smith’s incredible transformation even led him to become a personal trainer himself. Chris Connelly reports.
