Disneyland Resort this week began offering regularly-scheduled sign language interpretation at numerous shows and attractions at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks. As part of the Resort’s ongoing commitment to guests with disabilities, individuals have access to a schedule of offerings where interpretation is provided without having to make prior arrangements.
“The Disneyland Resort is dedicated to making the Disney tradition of rich storytelling available to all of our guests,” said Betty Appleton, who oversees the Resort’s guests with disabilities program. “Our new sign language service enables guests with hearing disabilities to engage with our shows and attractions in a whole new way.”
Disney Institute announced today that it is adding a new slate of programs at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. The new programs, which will premiere in July, will focus on a specific topic each day, and are available for individual registration or groups of up to 10 people.
“These new offerings will help us meet the growing demand from Southern California business professionals who wish to learn Disney best practices and apply them to their own organizations,” said Jeff James, vice president of Disney Institute.

Vinylmation Jr Series #2 is being released this morning at the Disneyland Resort (release date for Walt Disney World and online unknown) and the official Vinylmation blog is offering a look at the entire line including the chasers.
The series by Disney Design Group artist Thomas Scott features 1 1/2″ tall figures based on Bambi, Buzz Lightyear, Cheshire Cat, Cinderella, Donald Duck, Figment, Genie, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, Nemo, Peter Pan, Pluto, Pooh, Snow White, Tigger, Woody and two chasers.
Courtesy of the film’s official Facebook page comes this newly offered sketch from Disney’s Tangled which features Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi), Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) and Flynn’s occasionally-faithful steed, Maximus. Apparently Maximus’ allegiance may belong to someone other than his owner judging by the artwork.
Disney’s Tangled is slated to open nationwide on November 24 with a limited release beginning November 12. For all of our Tangled coverage, see this bookmark.
Returning for an unprecedented third year to the fans and Convention that “started it all,” Walt Disney Pictures is pleased to present a very special, insider look at its upcoming “TRON: Legacy” at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International Convention. At 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010, the panel presentation will be held in Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center. On the dais will be filmmakers and talent from the film, including director Joe Kosinski, producer Sean Bailey and cast members Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen and Bruce Boxleitner. The panel discussion, to be moderated by Patton Oswalt, is set to include exclusive glimpses of the film, as well as a Q & A involving all panel participants, along with special surprise guests.
It’s rare that we do publish a ‘human interest’ story here, but we couldn’t resist being one of the first to bring the story of Alex and Donna Voutsinas to the Disney community and weren’t surprised when the story took off like wildfire shortly after.
While sifting through photos for their upcoming wedding, the couple had discovered a childhood photo of Donna’s with her and her brothers meeting Mr. Smee and — to the surprise of both — Alex recognized his father in the background, placing the couple together in the very same photo decades before they actually met.
