ABC News announced today the launch of its branded channel on YouTube, youtube.com/ABCNEWS, featuring short form news content. The channel will include breaking news as it happens, highlights from newsmaker interviews, as well as ABC News programming from morning to night — including “Good Morning America,” “World News with Charles Gibson,” “Nightline,” “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” “20/20″ and “Primetime” limited series.

“We look forward to expanding our online audience for ABC News reporting on our new YouTube channel,” said David Westin, president, ABC News. “ABC News audiences will now be able to watch us on one of the top video portals on the Internet.”

First Look: Pixar’s ‘Up’-Themed NASCAR Vehicle Presented by Aflac

Aflac Up CarHere’s a first look at the new Aflac #99 NASCAR vehicle inspired by Disney/Pixar’s Up. Driven by Carl Edwards, the vehicle will make its television debut on May 9 during the Southern 500 NASCAR race at Darlington Raceway and televised on FOX. Also premiering during the event will be a new commercial where Aflac’s mascot and Pixar’s style team up to show how Aflac can help to prevent injuries and illnesses from derailing your dreams. The commercial will also be the unveiling of Aflac’s newest tagline, ‘We’ve got you under our wing.’

Walt Disney World Guests ‘Go Galactic’ In New Live Tomorrowland Show: ‘Stitch’s SuperSonic Celebration’

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – He’s been called the “Guru of Gross-Out” and “the Maker of Mischief.” Now Stitch stars in his very own live show, “Stitch’s SuperSonic Celebration,” an out-of-this-world spectacle that combines comedic quips and musical madness for Walt Disney World guests.

The all-new show at Magic Kingdom stars the cosmic cut-up from Walt Disney Pictures’ “Lilo & Stitch” as he invades a zany interactive experience at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. Guests join in a Galaxy Day celebration when the outdoor stage comes alive with high-energy music, dazzling dance moves and real-time animation.

Jonas Brothers to Premiere ‘Paranoid’ on Radio Disney, Perform on Good Morning America

On Thursday, May 7, JoBros fans will be able to hear the world premiere of  ‘Paranoid,’ the first single off their upcoming album ‘Lines, Vines & Trying Times’ (to be released June 15). Tune into Radio Disney at 4 pm EST to check it out.

About a week before their world tour kicks off, the band will also be appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America in New York City as part of its summer concert series. The JoBros will be performing for the show on June 12. Fans interested in attending the performance are asked to arrive at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield via the 69th street entrance on Fifth Avenue at 6:00 a.m., when the park opens to the public.

Other acts currently scheduled to appear include: Green Day (May 22), Lionel Richie (May 29), John Legend (June 5), Jamie Foxx (June 19), the cast of Broadway’s ‘HAIR’ (June 26), Brad Paisley (July 3), Queen Latifah (July 10), Kelly Clarkson (July 31), Kenny Chesney (August 14) and Reba McIntire (August 21). Other performers and dates will be announced closer to the performances.

The Walt Disney Company Reports on 2Q Earnings

BURBANK, Calif. – The Walt Disney Company today reported earnings for its second fiscal quarter and six months ended March 28, 2009. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) for the second quarter were $0.33 including restructuring and impairment charges which had a $0.10 per share impact on EPS. Excluding these items, EPS decreased 26% to $0.43 from $0.58 in the prior-year quarter.

For the six month period, diluted EPS was $0.78. In addition to the restructuring and impairment charges, EPS for the six month period included a gain on the sale of our investment in two pay television services in Latin America. Collectively, these items adversely affected EPS by $0.07 per share for the six months. Excluding these items, EPS decreased 30% to $0.85 from $1.21 in the prior year six months.

“We had a difficult second quarter due to the weak economy and other factors,” said Robert A. Iger, president and CEO, The Walt Disney Company. “At the same time, we remain focused on our core business strategy and believe our creativity, brands and businesses will serve us well as the economy recovers.”

Taking Impulse Buying to All New Heights: Disneyland Paris Tickets To Be Available On Planes

Onboard Retail Solutions® has secured an agreement with Disney Destinations International UK to sell Disneyland Paris park ticket vouchers to passengers onboard airlines and trains travelling into Paris.

Under the agreement, ‘Onboard’ will offer passengers the opportunity to purchase park ticket vouchers to enter Disneyland Paris onboard certain high speed trains travelling to the French capital. A full variety of passes will be offered, all of which are printed off, in voucher form, by the crew from a hand held terminal, at the point of sale onboard the train. As an added incentive, passengers purchasing the vouchers will benefit from competitive prices. The service will be initially deployed on Eurostar in co-operation with the train catering specialists, Momentum.

Similarly, airlines using ‘Onboard’s’ POS technology which fly into Paris will also be able to offer Disneyland Paris voucher tickets as part of the inflight service, again with discounts applying.

Disney XD Orders New Season of ‘Aaron Stone,’ Announces New Sitcom ‘Viper Slap’

Disney XD has renewed its flagship series “Aaron Stone” for a second season and has ordered a new original sitcom, “Viper Slap” (working title), about a teenage boy who is living his dream as the new lead guitarist of his favorite rock band and is determined to help his new misfit band mates make an epic comeback.

Star Wars Weekends 2009 Big Figs Now Available for Pre-Order

Retailing at $195.00, each member of the final edition of the Disney Star Wars Big Figures is being offered in a limited edition of 600. 500 pieces will be available at Walt Disney World with the remaining 100 at the Disneyland resort.

The figures are set to be released during the second weekend of Star Wars Weekends (May 29-31) but the resort is accepting pre-orders now. Availability to pre-orders is extremely limited, so order today. Once allocated pre-orders have been sold, remaining buyers will be placed on a wish list for any figures not sold after SWW ends.
