UDReplicas, a subsidiary of Universal Design, made a name for itself when it debuted its officially licensed Dark Knight motorcycle and gear last year. This year, they return to San Diego Comic-con and will offer up three new suits inspired by Disney’s TRON and Marvel’s X-Men and Iron Man.
We have received confirmation from Walt Disney Studios that The Debt‘s release date has been moved from its original slated release date of October 1 to Wednesday, December 29, 2010.
In The Debt (rated R by the MPAA for some violence and language), Rachel Singer (Helen Mirren) is one of three Israeli Mossad agents who were sent on a secret mission to capture a notorious Nazi war criminal in 1960’s East Berlin. Now, decades later, she must go back undercover and risk everything once again. The film was directed by John Madden (Shakespeare in Love and Proof) and also stars Tom Wilkinson, Jessica Chastain and Sam Worthington.
With just less than a week before the nationwide release of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Walt Disney Studios has offered up this motion comic which offers to take you on a journey of hundreds of years in just three and a half minutes. If you can forgive the terrible and melodramatic Nicolas Cage impression, the ‘South Park’-inspired power-walking and the fact that Balthazar Blake (a sorcerer to the 777th degree mind you) has to rely on children to protect him with their magic instead of using his own, it’s a bit more backstory to the film.

Back in February 2009, we reported on a lawsuit filed by Celador, creator of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, against The Walt Disney Company on claims that Disney cut its own internal deals and cut Celador out of the process, effectively denying the company of revenue it claims it was owned.
Recently the trial was held and the jury agreed with the game show’s creators, awarding Celador $269.4 Million in damages.
The Walt Disney Company is expected to appeal the decision. In an issued statement, Disney says, ‘We believe this verdict is fundamentally wrong and will aggressively seek to have it reversed.’
For those still reeling from the shock of no D23 Expo in 2010, D23 has unveiled its schedule of events and panelists for its Destination D: Disneyland ’55 event that takes place at the Disneyland Resort September 24 and 25, 2010. In addition, D23 has announced that the event will alternate annually with D23 Expo going forward.
Event highlights include the Mickey Mouse Club 55th Anniversary presentation, reuniting original Mouseketeers Sharon Baird, Doreen Tracey, Bobby Burgess, Karen Pendleton, Sherry Van Meter (formerly Alberoni), Tommy Cole, Cubby O’Brien, and Mary Geoff (formerly Espinosa) for a delightful trip back in time to the dawning of the television era with the club that was “made for you and me.”
Destination D will also mark the debut of the Disney Legends Celebration, a heartfelt tribute to those who have made a lasting contribution to the Disney legacy. All Destination D attendees and Disney Legends will be invited to attend E-Ticket: Music from the Disney Parks, a concert of memorable tunes through the years at the Disneyland Resort with some very special guests, including Disney Legend Richard Sherman.
All guests will also receive a limited-edition set of colorful, vintage Disneyland postcards from the Walt Disney Archives Collection. It’s a reproduction of actual postcards sold when Disneyland opened in 1955 — it’s just a coincidence that the complete set features 23 images!
There will also be a selection of limited edition merchandise available for purchase at the event.
Shown below is the current lineup for Destination D: Disneyland ’55 (times to be announced later this summer; panels and talent subject to change):
On Tuesday, July 20, D23 will be hosting a member mixer event at the House of Blues at Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney West Side from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
