Paradiso 37, a high-energy restaurant and bar featuring cuisine from North, South and Central America, welcomes guests to its table in May at Pleasure Island at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort.

The lakeside eatery will offer a delectable variety of menu offerings representing the 37 countries of the Americas, plus an international wine bar, 37 varieties of tequila and 10 signature frozen margaritas.

The new concept was developed by Orlando-based E-Brands Restaurant Group, a multi-concept restaurant group which currently owns and operates Timpano Chophouse, Samba Room, Taqueria Canonita, Aquaknox, David Burke, Salsa Orlando and Canonita Express in a number of locations across the United States.

The lively Downtown Disney restaurant will feature nightly entertainment and will be open daily from 11 a.m. until late night.

Artist Wyland to Unveil 4,000-Square-Foot Painting at World Premiere for Earth

The world premiere for Disneynature’s Earth will take place April 18 at 1:00 pm at Disney’s El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. At the event, Marine Life Artist Wyland will unveil a 4,000-square-foot painting inspired by the film.

Wyland has earned the distinction as one of America’s most unique creative influences and a leading advocate for marine resource conservation. He is perhaps best known for his monumental Whaling Wall mural project — an epic series of life-size marine life murals that spans fourteen countries on four continents and is viewed by an estimated 1 billion people every year. His Wyland Foundation, in partnership with the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, is actively engaged in teaching millions of students around the world to become caring, informed stewards of our oceans, rivers, lakes, streams, and wetlands. Today, he is considered one of the most influential artists of the 21st Century, with artwork in museums, corporate collections, and private homes in more than one hundred countries.

Miley Cyrus to Surprise ‘Hannah Montana the Movie’ Audiences During Opening Weekend

Hannah Montana 1SheetMiley Cyrus, star of Walt Disney Pictures’ “Hannah Montana The Movie,” announced exclusively on Disney.com today that she will be surprising unsuspecting audiences during her film’s opening weekend.

It’s all part of Disney’s new Opening Weekend Surprise program, in which moviegoers who show up to the theatre for a 2009 Walt Disney Pictures film during its national opening weekend could be treated to a truly magical Disney experience. This might include surprise in-theater appearances by talent from the film, live performances and more. Moviegoers won’t know in advance which cities, theaters or show times will be selected.

“I’m so excited to have the opportunity to surprise my fans this weekend. I’m really proud of ‘Hannah Montana The Movie,’ and wanted to do something special to reward the loyal Disney fans who show up opening weekend.”

Along with this announcement, Disney has launched Disney.com/surprise, a web site dedicated to giving fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes perspective of each Opening Weekend Surprise. Fans can visit the site now for a special message from Miley, and can return on Monday, April 13 for coverage of the surprises, plus a special treat.

Production Begins on ‘Skyrunners,’ Disney XD’s First Original Movie, Starring Kelly Blatz

Production has begun on “Skyrunners,” the first original movie for the newly branded television platform Disney XD. The science fiction adventure features rising star Kelly Blatz, who can also be seen playing the title role of the new network’s flagship series “Aaron Stone.” In addition Weta Workshop, the multiple Academy Award-winning world leader in special makeup, creature and visual effects (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “King Kong” and “The Chronicles of Narnia” films), will design and provide the practical alien creature effects in the movie.
