In its first order for the season, ABC Family has given the production greenlight to three pilots, it was announced today by Michael Riley, president, ABC Family. The network just concluded a record-breaking summer that included the debut of its new hit series “Pretty Little Liars” and “Melissa & Joey,” and the return of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and “Make It or Break It.” The pilots are scheduled to go into production this fall.

Playdom, in collaboration with ESPN Games, today launched a sports-themed social game on Facebook titled ESPNU College Town. Fun, engaging and easy to play,ESPNU College Town gives sports fans a chance to create and run their own virtual college campus, build an elite athletic program, and compete against their friends for bragging rights.
Sports fans in the game are given all the tools to create their own university, complete with academic buildings, major athletic venues – including football stadiums and basketball arenas – and ESPN-branded assets such as an ESPN College GameDay set and production truck. Other buildings and campus must-haves include dorms, a fraternity/sorority row, student unions, restaurants, libraries, walkways, streets, parking lots and more.

The Walt Disney Family Museum opened its doors in the Presidio of San Francisco almost a year ago on October 1, and to commemorate its first anniversary, the Museum has announced the launch of a YouTube Video Contest.
From September 27 to November 15, 2010, participants are invited to submit a short promotional video about the one-of-a-kind Museum that explores the fascinating life of Walt Disney, which includes ten interactive galleries that feature early drawings and animation, movies, music, listening stations, a 14 foot model of Disneyland and much more. Videos should have a running time between :30 seconds and 2 minutes in length, and the 3 top videos will be showcased on the Museum’s blog and YouTube channel.

Phillips of the United States District Court for the Central District of California has awarded $50 million in prejudgment interest to Celador International, Ltd. in addition to the already awarded damages of $269,431,798 awarded to Celador on July 7, 2010 bringing the judgment against Disney to a total of $319,431,798 pending the reward of any additional litigation costs.
Walt Disney Studios has released this clip from its upcoming film Secretariat. In the clip, Penny Chenery (Diane Lane) has asked millionaire Ogden Phipps (James Cromwell) to a lunch meeting to discuss a business proposal. When Phipps decides to turn the table on Chenery, however, he ends up getting more than he bargained for.

Our good friends at animatie.blog.nl have tipped us off to the new featurette for Disney’s Tangled, titled ‘A Hair-Raising Adventure.’ Featuring a lot of new footage (as well as some story point spoilers), directors Byron Howard and Nathan Greno are joined not only by voice talent Zachary Levi (Flynn Rider) and Mandy Moore (Rapunzel) but also by Donna Murphy (Mother Gothel) whose character is prominently featured in the clip.
