Viewers around the world will join a one-of-a-kind, online phenomenon in July to experience the extraordinary magic of “World of Color,” the new after-dark spectacular presented nightly in Disney California Adventure park in Anaheim. The interactive tour will feature live shows in four California cities, and the online audience will travel “virtually” to each location to watch the shows and interact with the webcast.
The Walt Disney Company today announced the acquisition of Palo Alto-based Tapulous, Inc., a leading developer of music games for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Through a merger agreement, Tapulous is now a wholly owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company reporting into Disney Interactive Media Group (DIMG).
Tapulous is a leading mobile games developer whose flagship title Tap Tap Revenge has been installed by more than 30% of iPhone/iPod touch users and remains one of the most successful gaming franchises on the iPhone platform. The company’s other popular games include the wildly innovative Riddim Ribbon and Tap Tap Radiation, the #1 game on the iPad at launch.
The Walt Disney Studios has launched a new Disney Movies app, exclusively for the Apple iPad, that lets users discover more about current and classic Disney movies. The app is part of the continuing effort to engage fans and provide them with access to their favorite Disney movies on the platform they prefer.
“The Disney Movies app is a perfect way for our fans to learn more about the amazing creative content that is currently available from The Walt Disney Studios,” said Greg Brandeau, the Studios’ Chief Technology Officer. “Whether they want to head straight to their local theater, buy the latest Blu-ray or DVD, download the newest digital release on their iPad, or search and discover new details about our films, the Disney Movie app provides fans with a dynamic and engaging experience.”

We have previously advised that both the Urban #4 and Have a Laugh Vinylmation series will be released at the Disneyland Resort on July 2.
We can now confirm that both series will become available at D-Street at the Walt Disney World Resort’s Downtown Disney West Side exactly one week later on July 9.
Both series have already been on sale at the new Disney Store in Montebello, CA, the first Disney Store to sell Vinylmation figures. Although the store has also been selling the Toy Story series, no release dates for the Parks have been made available to us at this time.

The ESPN Films documentary I Scored a Goal will premiere Saturday, July 3, at 5 p.m. ET on ABC during the ESPN Sports Saturday programming block. The one-hour program represents one of ESPN’s most ambitious initiatives surrounding the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. The documentary features interviews with most of the 34 living men who have scored a goal in the title match of the FIFA World Cup, dating back to the first tournament in 1930. Among those interviewed are Uruguay’s Alcides Ghiggia (1950), Brazil’s Pele (1958 and 1970) and Ronaldo (2002), Germany’s Gerd Müller (1974) and Rudi Völler (1986), Holland’s Dick Nanninga (1978), and Argentina’s Mario Kempes (1978, now an analyst for ESPN Deportes and ESPN International), all of whom represent countries still competing in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
With two weeks left to go before we see the theatrical release for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Walt Disney Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Productions, we wanted to offer you a little something extra. Yesterday, at the Shops at Montebello in Montebello, California, Disney Store launched its first of many new stores this year to feature its new ‘Imagination Park’ concept in which the store is designed to resemble a park full of imagination and wonder, broken down into different neighborhoods while offering unique experiences.
On hand to celebrate the day’s momentous occasion were Disney Store President Jim Fielding and stars from the Disney Channel original movie Camp Rock 2, Maria Canals Barrera, Chloe Bridges and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.

Rehearsals are underway for the Encore! Cast Choir and Orchestra’s summer production, Dream Our Dreams, A Musical Tribute to the Legacy of Disney. Known for staging spectacular charity concerts, the volunteer ensemble has chosen Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & Northern Florida as their 2010 beneficiary.
Encore! offers Cast Members an outlet for their creativity and a chance to showcase their talents while performing great music for worthy causes. The troupe, founded in 2002, has grown to include roughly 330 singers, 100 instrumentalists, 50 dancers and a production team of 40. Encore! producer Bruce Light says at least half of the group has jobs outside of entertainment and aren’t performers by trade. For all involved, it’s a labor of love.
