Report: Miramax’s ‘The Debt’ and ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark’ Will Not Be Released by Disney

At the 2009 D23 Expo, it was announced that Hollywood neo-legend  Guillermo del Toro would be teaming up with Walt Disney Studios to form a new shingle, Disney’s Double Dare You with the first project to be Trollhunters. Despite the announcement at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con that del Toro would be charging a remake of the studio blemish The Haunted Mansion, staying truer to the original attraction (which doesn’t use the definite article), it was also recently announced that Trollhunters would be going to Disney arch-nemesis DreamWorks Animation.

Save The Date: Official ‘TRON Legacy’ Vinylmation by Noah to be Released November 21

On his official blog, Disney Fine Artist Noah, known in part for his extremely popular custom hand-painted Vinylmation collectibles (ranging in size from 9″ to 5′), has announced the official TRON: Legacy Vinylmation by Noah release will take place November 21 at Downtown Disney’s D Street at both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts.

D23 Announces ‘Disney and Dickens’ Holiday Event at Walt Disney Studios, December 8

On Wednesday, December 8, Disney D23 members and their guests are invited to visit the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California for the rare opportunity to experience an area of the Studios rarely seen by the public. After check-in begins at 4:00 pm PT, guests will have the opportunity to explore the on-site Disney Store and Walt Disney Studios employee store before being escorted to the famed Legends Plaza where hot cider and other treats will be offered prior to the event’s start.

Disney XD Revs Up to Visit Futuristic Detroit in ‘Motorcity’

All Rights ReservedProduction has begun on “Motorcity,” an animated series set in a futuristic Detroit after it has been purchased and built into Detroit Deluxe by evil billionaire Abraham Kane. Kane, having banned personal freedoms including automobile transportation, is ultimately challenged by a group of rebels who call themselves The Burners. Led by 17-year-old Mike Chilton, The Burners retreat to an underground city, customize their fleet of hot rods and pursue their quest to stop Kane from taking over the world. The series, created by Chris Prynoski and produced by Disney Television Animation and Titmouse, Inc., is slated to premiere next year on the burgeoning Disney XD, which offers a compelling mix of live-action and animated programming for kids age 6-14, hyper-targeting boys and their quest for discovery, accomplishment, sports, adventure and humor. The announcement was made today by Eric Coleman, Senior Vice President, Original Series, Disney Television Animation.

Multiple Emmy Award Winning ‘Prep & Landing’ Returns with All New Short and Half Hour Special

“Prep &Landing” returns this season with an all new 7-Minute animated short, “Operation: Secret Santa,” airing on ABC in December, while the half-hour animated special, “Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice,” debuts in 2011. “Prep & Landing” became an instant favorite with viewers and emerged as TV’s number 1 holiday special in the 2009 season. It was also the highest kids rating (kids 2-11/ 7.5/23), for any primetime telecast on broadcast TV in 2009. The special went on to win four Emmy Awards.
