ORLANDO, Fla., April 3 — Beginning today, the “Bundles of Free Smiles” campaign developed by the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Inc. (Orlando CVB) will get a new boost through June 30 with a weekly featured deal and a vacation giveaway contest in addition to the more than 130 free offers at VisitOrlando.com/Smile. The new “Deal of the Week” component begins today and offers enhanced savings at select Orlando resorts. With more than 130 accommodations, attractions and other venues already offering “free” components such as stay three nights get two free, the “Deal of Week” will provide a bonus savings of up to $100 in added value.
Visitors to VisitOrlando.com/smile will find a new “Deal of the Week” posted every Friday through June 30. However, to celebrate the inauguration of the program, this first deal offering more than $300 in savings will be featured for two weeks, ending April 17:

Save the date for the newest romantic comedy from Touchstone Pictures, The Proposal starring Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. Sure, it’s been done before. It’s a sit-com cliche — Drew Carey did a Chuck and Larry version of it, there was even an entire series (I Married Dora) focusing on the subject — not to mention Hollywood (Green Card, anyone?). PASADENA, Calif., April 2, 2009 – Disney Store North America unveiled its comprehensive line up of Earth Day activities and promotions designed to educate families about the impact they make by recycling and provide everyone with the opportunity to engage in replanting an endangered rainforest through The Nature Conservancy’s Plant a Billion Trees Campaign (www.plantabillion.org). These initiatives build on The Walt Disney Company’s recently announced long-term environmental goals to reduce emissions, waste, electricity and fuel use, as well as the company’s impact on water and ecosystems.
To add to the Earth Day celebration, Disney Store will also introduce an exclusive assortment of environmentally friendly tee shirts and tote bags made from Sustainable Solutions Group’s RETHINK fabric, a new textile created from recycled water bottles.

Mascot Hall of Fame-inductee Ted Giannoulas, the original Famous San Diego Chicken who is widely credited for heralding an era of outrageous sideline mascots, was a consultant and one of three professional chicken stuntmen on the set of “Hatching Pete,” a raucous comedy about a small town’s zeal for its high school basketball team and the emergence of a shy teen’s hidden personality as its hilarious chicken mascot.
The stunt and basketball-filled movie geared towards kids, tweens and families, premieres FRIDAY, APRIL 24 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel with a simulcast on Sprint TV and MobiTV. The movie will be available Friday, April 17 on Disney Channel on Demand through select cable and telco providers. The “Hatching Pete” movie website at www.DisneyChannel.com features arcade games “Tailfeathers Bounce” and “Mascot Me,” and an interactive quiz.
Through eco-conscious storytelling, Disney Channel marks Earth Day with episodes conveying the importance of conservation, recycling and using natural resources beginning FRIDAY, APRIL 17.
PlayhouseDisney.com will launch the new “Handy Manny Gets Handy with the Earth” mini site, which includes “Manny’s Mini Garden,” where kids can create their own online garden on FRIDAY, APRIL 3.
Disney.com will offer a preview of “Handy Manny’s” new recycling episode, “Home Sweet Home/ Jackie’s Old Shed,” beginning SATURDAY, APRIL 11.
