Disney Theatrical Productions is celebrating 15 years on Broadway by offering “$15 FOR 15″ – 15 days to purchase companion tickets for THE LITTLE MERMAID, Mary Poppins or THE LION KING for $15. Beginning at noon this Sunday, April 5 until 11:59 PM on Sunday April 19, theatre-goers will have the opportunity to buy a $15 companion ticket for all three popular Disney on Broadway shows with the purchase of a regular priced ticket to more than 125 performances throughout the spring.

“When I look back on our 15 year history, one achievement that continues to be a great source of pride is our ability to bring first-time theatre goers to Broadway,” said Thomas Schumacher, producer and president of Disney Theatrical Productions. “We’ve helped instill a love of theatre in adults and children alike, and being able to broaden that reach with an opportunity like this is profoundly gratifying.”

Disney Plant a BillionLAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., April 1, 2009 — By planting one tree for each eco-friendly, reusable tote bag produced, Disney is helping the Conservancy reach its goal of planting one billion trees in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest by 2015. Disney is planting nearly 100,000 trees in total.

As one of the world’s most endangered tropical forests, the Atlantic Forest is a priority conservation location. It is home to an estimated 2,180 species of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish and birds ? or 5 percent of all vertebrates on Earth. Centuries ago the forest covered nearly 580,000 square miles – an area the size of the U.S. eastern seaboard from Maine to South Carolina. Today, only 7 percent remains, much in isolated fragments.

The Nature Conservancy, along with local and international conservation organizations and a host of public and private partners, is committed to bring about the rebirth of the Atlantic Forest through the implementation of a large-scale reforestation plan to plant one billion trees and conserve millions of acres in protected areas.

Disney to Debut Special Limited Double Feature Engagement of Disney-Pixar’s ‘Toy Story’ and ‘Toy Story 2′ Exclusively in Disney Digital 3D October 2nd

LAS VEGAS, March 31  — Moviegoers are in for twice the fun and triple the thrills as The Walt Disney Studios prepares to debut the Disney Digital 3D(TM) versions of Disney-Pixar’s beloved animated features – “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2″ – during a special limited engagement starting on October 2, 2009, it was announced today by Mark Zoradi, president, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group.

This extraordinary double feature, taking the latest advances in digital 3D technology “to infinity and beyond,” will play exclusively in 3D. “Toy Story,” the industry’s first ever computer-animated feature and the first feature released by Pixar Animation Studios in 1995, and “Toy Story 2,” the critically acclaimed sequel that debuted in 1999, were both directed by Academy Award(R)-winning filmmaker John Lasseter. Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland to be Released in IMAX 3D on March 5, 2010

LOS ANGELES, CA, March 31 – Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and IMAX Corporation (NASDAQ: IMAX; TSX: IMX) today announced that Alice in Wonderland, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and Mia Wasikowska as Alice, will be released to IMAX(R) theatres simultaneously with the film’s wide release on March 5, 2010. In honor of Mickey’s Magical Party, Disneyland Paris has recruited several British celebrities and fashion icons to design ‘My Mickey Ears’ to be auctioned off May 5 for the benefit of the Great Ormond Street Hospital. Designers include Geri Halliwell, Estelle, Daisy Lowe, John Terry, Amir Khan, Luella Bartley, Giles Deacon, Phil Collins, Samantha Janus, Sinitta and Thierry Henry.
