KABC to Stream Red Carpet at Witch Mountain Premiere March 11

Ten Year Old Girl is a Suite Life-saver

Disney XD Goes Green… for St. Patrick’s Day

This St. Patrick’s Day (March 17), Disney XD presents a six episode-long block from 7PM-10PM EST/PST featuring your favorite green superheroes and villains. Be on the lookout for the Incredible Hulk, She-Hulk and the super-villain Green Goblin from the wildly popular animated series “Spider-Man” and “The Incredible Hulk.”

The programming schedule is:
7:00 p.m.    Spider-Man – “Sins of the Fathers Chapter 4: Enter the Green Goblin”

Additional D23 News from Press Conference Call

D23 Head Steven Clark began the call by providing some background and inspiration on D23, talking about how the Walt Disney Company first got its start on October 16, 1923 (where the 23 comes from) by signing its contract to produce the Alice comedies.

Clark addressed concerns about why there hasn’t been a greater outreach by Disney to its fans in the past. He stressed that Disney has always reached out to its fan base in many different aspects but that they’ve always been at the hand of individual units. D23 represents the first time the company has formed a united front to bring that level of relationship to the Disney fan community. Clark defines D23 as pulling back the curtain, going behind closed doors, going backstage and meeting the cast members that make the magic every day, all summed up as the ultimate insider Disney experience.

Investors Re-elect Disney Board, Reject Say On Pay

LOS ANGELES, March 10 (Reuters) – Shareholders at Walt Disney Co’s (DIS.N) annual meeting on Tuesday re-elected the company’s 12 directors but defeated proposals that would have given investors an advisory say on executive compensation.

Disney investors also voted down a proposal that would have barred the entertainment company from providing death benefits to the families of executives who die on the job.

Disney Announces Names for New Cruise Ships: Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy

DCL 4 ShipsCELEBRATION, Fla. (March 10, 2009) – Today at the 2009 Annual Meeting of Shareholders of The Walt Disney Company, Disney announced the names of the company’s two new cruise ships.

“Last week, steel cutting began on our next two Disney cruise ships.  Today I’m pleased to announce their names,” said Robert A. Iger, Disney president and CEO.  “The Disney Dream will set sail in 2011, while the Disney Fantasy will hit the high seas in 2012.”

Similar to the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, the names were chosen to celebrate Disney’s unique heritage of creating enchanting places and stories where dreams really do come true.

DCL Announces Names for New Ships

The Walt Disney Co. today announced new names for the new Disney Cruise Line ships being built in Germany.

The Disney “Dream” will begin sailing in 2011 and the Disney “Fantasy” will join the fleet in 2012, Disney Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger said during the company’s annual shareholder meeting today in Oakland, Calif.

Both new ships will begin by sailing out of Port Canaveral through at least 2014. They will join Disney’s existing Magic and Wonder vessels.
