‘Best in TV: The Greatest TV Shows of Our Time with Barbara Walters’ Special to Air September 18

What are the greatest television shows of all time? Who are our favorite TV mom and dad? Who is our favorite television host of all time? It’s America’s turn to decide, as a collaboration between ABC News and PEOPLE Magazine gave TV fans the opportunity to vote online at www.bestintelevision.com for their favorites of all time. With more than one million votes cast, the results will be revealed during an unprecedented two-hour broadcast, a special edition of ’20/20,’ ‘Best in TV: The Greatest TV Shows of Our Time with Barbara Walters,’ airing Tuesday, September 18 from 9 – 11 pm ET on ABC, in conjunction with ABC’s broadcast of the Emmy Awards.

The program will include fresh interviews with stars, directors and producers including Desi Arnaz Jr. and Lucie Arnaz, Carol Burnett, Tim Conway, Tina Fey, Mariska Hargitay, Florence Henderson, Christina Hendricks, Ron Howard, Warren Littlefield, Lorne Michaels, Muppets Kermit and Miss Piggy, Phylicia Rashad, Rob Reiner, Ryan Seacrest, Keith Thibodeaux — aka Little Ricky — from “I Love Lucy,” Betty White and Dick Wolf.

The special will also include classic clips from America’s favorite shows, as well as out-takes, screen tests and rare behind-the-scenes footage. In addition, a panel of pop culture and television experts, including several editors and writers from PEOPLE, will weigh in with their thoughts and memories.

VIDEO: ‘Monsters, Inc 3D’ Trailer Debuts Online

Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios have debuted the trailer for Monsters Inc 3D, which debuts in theaters nationwide on December 19, 2012 (the embedded version below comes from Walt Disney Studios UK which is why it features an alternate date).

The Academy Award®-winning animated comedy adventure Monsters, Inc. returns to the big screen—now in 3D—with lovable Sulley (voiced by John Goodman) and his wisecracking best friend Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) as they struggle to help a little girl named Boo (voiced by Mary Gibbs) find her way home from Monstropolis in the midst of a wild and mysterious cover-up.

Monsters, Inc. 3D will be followed by its prequel, Monsters University, which debuts theatrically on June 21, 2013.

‘Wreck-It Ralph’ New Hi-Res Still

Walt Disney Animation Studios has provided us with this new hi-res still from its upcoming release, Wreck-It Ralph, which debuts in theaters on November 2, 2012.

In the new still, Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly), the bad guy in a 1980s arcade game, sets off on a hilarious game-hopping journey and joins forces with tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch). But as a rookie soldier, Ralph is not prepared to take on the deadly Cy-Bugs he encounters in Calhoun’s modern first-person shooter game, ‘Hero’s Duty.’

Walt Disney Animation Studios and Emmy®-winning director Rich Moore take moviegoers on a hilarious, arcade-game-hopping journey in Wreck-It Ralph. Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix (voice of Jack McBrayer), the ‘good guy’ star of their game who always gets to save the day. But after decades doing the same thing and seeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he’s tired of playing the role of a bad guy. He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video

Once Lost ‘Hungry Hobos’ Oswald Short Fully Restored, Debuted at Telluride Film Festival

Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) debuted a newly restored digital print of the once-thought-lost 1928 Oswald the Lucky Rabbit animated short Hungry Hobos at the Telluride Film Festival on September 2, according to Dave Bossert, producer/creative director and head of special projects for WDAS. The film, which was found in a private film vault in England in 2011, was acquired by Disney that same year and has undergone extensive digital restoration. Hungry Hobos will debut in Telluride, Colorado as part of a special animation shorts program presented by leading film historian and restoration expert Serge Bromberg.

Also on the program (‘Serge Bromberg’s Retour De Flamme’) was a sneak peek at Disney’s newest animated short Paperman, which premiered at this year’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival, generating excitement in the industry for its innovative hybrid use of computer animation and hand-drawn techniques.

Hungry Hobos was overseen by Walt Disney in 1928 as part of a distribution deal with Universal Pictures. It was the 20th short film (out of 26 made by Disney) starring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, a long-eared precursor to the more famous Mickey Mouse (who appeared for the first time later that year in Steamboat Willie). The film follows the misadventures of Oswald and his roughneck pal, Putrid Pete, as they ride a freight car loaded with animals and devise ways to cook a meal using the tools at hand. When a policeman chases them off the train, the duo poses as a hurdy-gurdy man and a monkey as part of their escape.

‘We were so proud to be able to debut Hungry Hobos at the prestigious Telluride Film Festival, and to have the world renowned film preservationist Serge Bromberg present it to the public for the first time in over half a century,’ said Bossert. ‘Aside from creating innovative new state-of-the-art animated features like Tangled and the upcoming Wreck-It Ralph and shorts like Paperman, Walt Disney Animation Studios is dedicated to preserving and restoring our film legacy and the art of animation. In restoring Hungry Hobos, we were able to address such issues as warpage, dirt removal, broken sprocket holes, light flicker and film weave. The end result is a highly entertaining and historically important film that is part of our Disney heritage.”

Bromberg added, ‘We are very grateful to Disney for letting us debut this newly restored Oswald short in Telluride. The film has some wonderful gags, and provides an excellent look at the early work of Walt Disney before he created Mickey Mouse. We salute Disney’s efforts to preserve its cinematic past, while moving forward with such exciting new efforts as Paperman.’

The Walt Disney Company reclaimed its rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in February 2006, when Disney CEO Bob Iger initiated a trade with NBC Universal in exchange for sending sportscaster Al Michaels to NBC Sports. Oswald has since been featured in Disney Interactive’s video game ‘Disney Epic Mickey’ and the upcoming ‘Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two,’ scheduled for release on November 18.

Minnie Mouse Collection by Gerlan Jeans to Debut at New York Fashion Week

Gerlan Jeans has announced that as part of its Spring/Summer 2013 ‘Gerl Power’ collection, it will incorporate fashion icon Minnie Mouse into her own line of clothing.

The Minnie-inspired clothing is described as vivid repeat prints that showcase Minnie’s many moods and then ‘sets her signature bow free to fly!’ The signature ‘Minnie Bow’ is seen throughout the collection as a symbol of empowerment, taking the bow to new heights and making it the must-have accessory of the season. ‘Frankenweenie’ Victor and Sparky Ad, New Hi-Res Stills

Via its YouTube channel, Walt Disney Studios has shared its latest ad for Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, which opens in theaters nationwide on October 5. They have also provided us with two new stills from the film which have been added to our gallery below.

A feature-length stop-motion remake of the original short film by Burton, Frankenweenie is a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new ‘leash on life’ can be monstrous.
