Earlier this week, Campbell/Gambill Designs released the iPhone/iPod Touch edition of Steven Barrett’s popular Hidden Mickeys guide. Providing the same scavenger hunt-type lists of Hidden Mickeys throughout the Walt Disney World as the book does, the app also takes advantage of the iPhone by incorporating the use of GPS. Currently the app boasts over 800 Hidden Mickeys across the four main theme parks.

I just came across this collection available from Acme Archives titled Disney Underground. The collection allows artists to offer what’s described as an ‘abstract pop surrealism’ effect to classic Disney characters, including the fab five.
Pictured to the left is Porcelain by artist Steven Daily (you decide who it’s meant to be as the artist claims any likenesses are coincidental). The giclee on canvas is limited to 100 pieces, hand-numbered and signed by the artist. It measures 19″ x 24″ and is available unframed for $250 (framing and other options available).

The application, which will make use of GPS technology, will provide information to guests at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts such as park maps, character meet & greet information and attraction wait times. Mr. Bluebird tells us there will be a subscription fee of $9.95 for six months and that when it becomes available, Verizon customers will be able to purchase it by texting MAGIC to 2777 from their Verizon phones.
