Three of the biggest names in sports and entertainment will come together this week when the Harlem Globetrotters join forces with ESPN and Disney Sports as part of the official re-launch of ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla.
Bristol Palin, eldest daughter of former Alaskan Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, will make her acting debut on ABC Family’s hit original drama series, “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.” The episode will shoot in Los Angeles and air this summer when the series returns for its third season on ABC Family.
Said Executive Producer Brenda Hampton: “Bristol Palin is the most famous teenage mother in America. We’re thrilled to have her join us, and I think she will bring additional attention to the issues facing teen parents that we’ve been exploring for a couple of seasons now.”
In any case, the familiar purple-biased costumes will soon be going the way of the dodo as these more elegant, pilot-esque costumes take their place (hats/visors are optional).
The second season of the hit comedy series “Sonny With A Chance” – highlighted by clever new ‘So Random’ sketches that further showcase the ensemble cast’s tremendous comedic talent – will premiere SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Starring are Demi Lovato, Tiffany Thornton, Sterling Knight, Brandon Mychal Smith, Doug Brochu and Allisyn Ashley Arm. Recurring cast members include Nancy McKeon, Michael Kostroff and Vicki Lewis.

Orlando Magic center Dwight ‘Superman’ Howard reversed the world’s spin yesterday to manipulate time and make an ‘in-studio’ appearance at the ESPN Studios in Connecticut while simultaneously existing in the flesh in Orlando. New technology created at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World allows the virtual projection of a ‘hologram,’ allowing an individual in one physical location appear to be in another altogether (some assembly required).
Ian Ray, of Dooney & Bourke, will be at Tren-D in the Downtown Disney Marketplace at Walt Disney World on Friday, February 26, 2010, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for a special event debuting new Disney Dooney & Bourke products. Walt Disney World Resort hotels are working with Clean the World to recycle all the partially used amenities from their nearly 28,000 Central Florida hotel rooms. Clean the World sanitizes the soap and shampoo that would be discarded and distributes these amenities to people in need around the world.
Disney Interactive Studios has just launched the full Alice in Wonderland – An Adventure Beyond the Mirror video game for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Effective February 21, there will no longer be a bus available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to take guests to the ESPN Wide World of Sports facility. Instead, guests can catch a bus to/from Disney’s All-Star Resorts, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Buses are expected to operate between 7 am and 11 pm daily, but will change times and frequency as dictated by sporting events occuring that day.
