Disney Interactive Studios today announced “Disney Tangled: The Video Game,” a story-based adventure game inspired by the world and characters featured in the upcoming 3D animated Disney film “Tangled,” an action-packed comedy adventure for audiences of all ages. Featuring Rapunzel, a feisty teen with incredibly long magical hair, and Flynn Ryder, a charming rogue, the video game combines humor with an engaging adventure as players embark on a journey to fulfill one of Rapunzel’s lifelong dreams to see the lights she’s admired from her Tower window. “Disney Tangled: The Video Game” will be released for the Wii™ system and Nintendo DS™ family of hand-held systems, as well as Windows/PC this holiday season.
Animal Kingdom Lodge Team Wins 2010 Walt Disney World Cast Member Canoe Races
Hundreds of Disney Cast Members arrived at the Magic Kingdom before sunrise this month to participate in Canoe Races of the World, also known as C.R.O.W., a spirited Disney tradition that involves friendly competition and strength behind the oars. The beloved annual Cast Member event dates back to 1963 at Disneyland, 1973 at Walt Disney World Resort and is now at Disney Parks worldwide.
Of the 79 participating teams, Shut Up and Let Me Row… HEY! from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, was crowned the 2010 C.R.O.W. grand champion on July 23. The title is a first for the co-ed recreational team, who competed against five other finalists in the grand championship round, held pre-dawn on the Rivers of America.

Disney and Pixar Voiceover Artists to Speak at Marc Davis Celebration of Animation August 19
The artists who voice Dug the Dog, Minnie Mouse, Natasha Fatale, Rocky the Squirrel and Winnie the Pooh will sound off at “Voices of Character,” the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 16th installment of the Marc Davis Celebration of Animation, on Thursday, August 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
Hosted by animation historian Charles Solomon, the event will feature onstage discussions with such legendary voice artists as Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh), Susan Egan (Meg of “Hercules”), June Foray (Natasha Fatale and Rocky the Flying Squirrel), Yuri Lowenthal (Ben Tennyson) and Russi Taylor (Minnie Mouse), along with animation director Bob Peterson (who voices Dug the Dog in “Up”), animator James Baxter and casting executive Rick Dempsey.

Julie Taymor’s ‘The Tempest’ to Open Nationwide December 17; Limited Release December 10
From Miramax Films comes The Tempest directed and adapted for the screen by Julie Taymor who last directed the Beatles’ music-filled Across the Universe and created and directed the Disney Theatrical adaptation of The Lion King on Broadway. The film — which stars Helen Mirren, Russell Brand, Alfred Molina, Djimon Hounsou, David Strathairn, Chris Cooper, Alan Cumming, Ben Whishaw, Reeve Carney, Felicity Jones and Tom Conti — is adapted from the William Shakespeare play and will open in limited release in New York and Los Angeles on December 10, 2017, followed by a wide release on December 17. This will be Taymor’s second adaptation of a Shakespeare play, the first being Titus (based on ‘Titus Andronicus’).
