ANAHEIM, CALIF. June 16, 2009 – Beginning in August 2009, Southern California’s landmark Disneyland Hotel will start a significant renovation project that will include major improvements to its guest rooms and considerable changes to the exterior of the hotel. The hotel will remain open during the renovation, which will be conducted in phases, and is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
“We are excited to embark on the largest and most extensive renovation of one of Disney’s classic hotels,” said Disneyland Resort President Ed Grier. “This renovation provides us with the opportunity to bring new magic to this historic hotel, which enables us to enhance the Disney experience that our guests have come to expect. “It also reinforces our ongoing commitment and investment in the Anaheim Resort District – working with the city and area businesses to continue to evolve the District into a world-class, multiday tourist destination,” added Grier.
Now, guests staying on site at a Disney owned and operated resort at Walt Disney World can receive a complimentary Titlelist or Cobra golf club rental with purchase of a full round of golf at any of the Walt Disney World golf courses.
Set to be released in late July through etailers such as Amazon.com and ToysRUs.com, the $350 Disney-branded Asus Netbook (available in Pink or Blue) will offer WiFi connectivity and several Disney-specific applications and themes aimed at the 12 & under set.

Earlier this year, we reported on a lawsuit via TMZ in which Burbank resident Dennis Jackson claimed that the air conditioning system used by Disney at its headquarters in Burbank was using contaminated water and not only was releasing toxic vapors into the air but potentially contaminated drinking water as well.
Now, environmental watchdog group Environmental World Watch Inc. has filed suit alleging that Disney has been dumping the water contaminated with toxins such as chromium 6 for more than twenty years and that the water has contaminated a parcel of land known as the Polliwog after flowing down several streets.
