And two extraordinary men, in two extraordinary ways, are breaking all the rules to try to save the lions. Kevin Richardson is an affable South African known as the ‘Lion Whisperer,’ whose affection-based training methods have enabled him to become an honorary member of a pride he raised at his wildlife park. And hundreds of miles away in the bushland of Namibia, Animal Planet host and big cat trainer Dave Salmoni is risking his life trying to rehabilitate a pride of wild lions so dangerous that they were earmarked for destruction at a national park. In an audacious attempt to save them, Dave convinced the owner of the Erindi Game Sanctuary to let him teach the aggressive pride of lions how to calmly live among the eco-tourists that support the park. But is it worth risking his life?
