ABC Music Lounge goes live today with a special music stream dedicated to Lilith 2010 artists. The stream is filled with over eight hours of songs from artists such as Lilith founder Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Sugarland, Erykah Badu and Marina & The Diamonds, to name a few. In honor of the release of his third entry in the Kingdom Keepers series, Disney in Shadow, New York Times best-selling author Ridley Pearson recently escorted a group of young fans from Windy Hill Middle School in Clermont, Florida on a special Kingdom Keepers tour through Epcot at the Walt Disney World resort.

In honor of OCEANS, guests who bring six plastic bottles or aluminum cans to their local Disney Store on Earth Day, April 22, will receive a free Friends for Change and OCEANS co-branded baseball cap made from six recycled plastic bottles itself.
Earlier today Hachette Book Group announced via press release that effective September 1, 2010, it will be handling distribution of Marvel graphic novels which is currently handled through Diamond Book Distributors. Although Marvel has since announced that it intends to [i]extend[/i] the current agreement with sister company Diamond Comics Distributor to continue handling the distribution of Marvel’s more traditional comics form, it does tend to strike a familiar chord such as when parent company Disney handed off its license for comics starring traditional Disney characters in the United States to BOOM! Studios, formerly handled by Diamond sibling Gemstone Publishing.
As part of his Disney Store president Jim Fielding’s pre-Marvel acquisition promise, DisneyStore.com has once again expanded its offerings beyond that of traditional Disney-themed offerings.
Following an introduction of merchandise inspired by TRON and Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, DisneyStore.com has now introduced the Marvel Shop, with dozens of items featuring iconic Marvel favorities such as Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and more.
As part of a consolidated corporate responsibility report for The Walt Disney Company, Disney Cruise Line today released its 2009 Community Report, highlighting the many ways the company is involved in the ports it frequents throughout the world.
The report shares details on the line’s commitment in the areas of community outreach, environmental stewardship, and further outlines how the company provides a safe and comfortable workplace for cast and crew members.
“At Disney Cruise Line, we are proud to be involved with many communities around the world and strive to make a positive impact in all of the places we call home,” said Karl Holz, president of Disney Cruise Line and New Vacation Operations. “Through our relationships with local leaders, we are able to extend our special brand of Disney magic beyond our ships and into the local communities where we live, work and play.”
In 2009, Disney Cruise Line and its cast and crew members contributed more than $252,000 in charitable, cash and in-kind merchandise and equipment donations to local organizations focused on developing children and supporting the environment across 13 unique ports of call.
The community report reflects a company-wide effort to build an integrated, transparent strategy that focuses on serving the needs of guests, cast and crew members, shareholders, business partners and local communities.
Suffering ‘pain, shock and mental anguish’ and an inability to perform ‘normal activities’ since tripping and falling along a walkway in Epcot, Judith Franzen of New York has filed a federal lawsuit against Walt Disney World / Disney Parks and Resorts last Friday. The complaint, which seeks an even one million dollars in damages, asserts that Walt Disney World was previously aware of the unnamed condition of the walkway which caused the accident on April 22, 2008 and that the resort was ‘negligent, careless, reckless and grossly negligent.’
