Disney Media Advertising Sales and Marketing Group has signed State Farm as a sponsor of Disney Channel in an agreement that calls for 30-second messages designed to empower young viewers to influence safe driving and to make a difference in their families’ lives. The messages feature 16-year-old star Selena Gomez (of Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place”) and will rotate during Disney Channel’s primetime programming block, the market leader among Kids age 6-14.

Disney XD’s signature series, “Aaron Stone,” will be seen in a seven-episode marathon that includes special trivia on-air and online, in “Disney XD For Real: Aaron Stone Edition,” airing FRIDAY, MARCH 27 (7:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (March 17, 2009) — Chef Cat Cora and Disney are joining together to open an exciting new family dining restaurant at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. Kouzzina by Cat Cora will feature a menu of Mediterranean-style cuisine that pays tribute to the chef’s Greek roots.
The restaurant, to be owned and operated by Disney, is scheduled to open by fall 2009 in the space currently occupied by Spoodles.
Bloomberg is reporting that against the hopes of the Hong Kong government, Disney has halted all creative and development work in terms of expanding its Hong Kong Disneyland, resulting in a layoff of about 30 employees.
