Disney Interactive Studios today announced that Toy Story 3: The Video Game for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, releasing on June 15, 2010, will exclusively feature content and gameplay available only on the PlayStation 3 system (PS3™). Emperor Zurg, one of the most beloved villains of the Disney•Pixar “Toy Story” franchise, will be a playable character exclusively on the PS3™ system. In addition, Toy Story 3: The Video Game will be one of the first games to market featuring the PlayStation®Move’s motion controller compatible gameplay.
DisneyStore.com has made Jessie (Item #200784P), Mr. Potato Head (Item #200350P) and Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear / Lotso (Item #201311P) from the Thinkway Toys Toy Story Collection available for pre-order. According to the site, Mr. Potato Head will be available to own on May 12 while Jessie and Lotso will become available June 1. As is standard with the Toy Story Collection, the toys are all described as film-accurate and come with a certificate of authenticity.
Disneynature announced today that its “See ‘OCEANS,’ Save Oceans” campaign will protect more than 35,000 acres of coral reef in The Bahamas on behalf of the moviegoers who came out to see Disneynature’s motion picture “Oceans” during its opening week. Through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, Disneynature will help establish new marine protected areas through the The Nature Conservancy’s Adopt a Coral Reef program. At 55 square miles, this protected area of coral reefs will be almost two-and-a-half times the size of Manhattan or the equivalent of more than 412 Disneylands, supporting the expansion of the Westside National Park of Andros.
The Bahamas represent an important ecosystem, straddling the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The 700 islands that comprise The Bahamas contain miles of vital coral reefs, which are the foundation of a healthy ocean environment, providing shelter, nurseries and feeding grounds for hundreds of marine species, including dolphins, sea turtles and a wide range of fish. Scientists estimate that the coral reefs of the Caribbean could be gone in 50 years without a network of well-managed marine protected areas.
“We’re excited to once again collaborate with The Nature Conservancy on an initiative that takes the impact of Disneynature’s storytelling to an entirely new level,” said Alan Bergman, president of The Walt Disney Studios. “The health of our oceans is absolutely vital to the well-being of our planet and thanks to the supporters of Disneynature’s motion picture ‘Oceans,’ this investment in marine conservation will help ensure critical aquatic environments will thrive for future generations.”

The Wyland Foundation, Fredrix Artist Canvas, and Volvo Cars of North America donated more than 300 50-square foot canvas paint kits to public and private schools and community centers across the nation. 29,000 students in 39 states painted murals about a range of issues affecting ocean health, from overdevelopment to declining marine biodiversity. But students also chose to contrast marine problems by highlighting the astonishing beauty that still remains in the ocean.

New characters from the soon-to-be-released Disney•Pixar film “Toy Story 3” are being added to the joyful, toy-full adventure of Toy Story Mania! at Disney’s California Adventure and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In addition to playing with new characters in Toy Story Mania!, there will be opportunities in both parks for up-close fun with another all-new character from “Toy Story 3” – Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear. He’s the bossman at Sunnyside Daycare in the highly anticipated animated feature film.
Although there were perpetual rumors stemming from hope when the Disneyland Resort first announced the return of Captain EO for a limited time engagement, Disney Parks and Resorts successfully blindsided everyone this morning when they announced that it would not only return to Epcot this summer but would also return to Disneyland Paris, completing the circle of life.
The attraction will first re-open at Disneyland Paris on June 12, followed by Tokyo Disneyland on June 30 and finally at Walt Disney World’s Epcot on July 2.

Since the early 80s commercial for Lots-o-Huggin’ Bear found its way to the net, dozens of confused individuals are now congratulating Pixar on job well done, touting the ad as a fake — a viral video created in modern-day times designed to generate buzz for Toy Story 3 and its so-called ‘new’ stars.
If indeed this advertisement was somehow faked — and logic clearly points to it wasn’t — we’d love to know how the exact same hoax was pulled off at around the same time, half a world away.
Perhaps carying on a new tradition we experienced with UP, we also get our first look of a new ‘webisode’ titled Mission I: Buzz and Woody in which our heroes are re-introduced along with their first mission. The teaser also features a tad of never-before-seen footage from the film, in stark contrast to the infamous Japanese trailer which plays more like a Reader’s Digest condensed version of the film.
