Amazon.com is now listing an import of the blu-ray edition of Disneynature’s The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos (regions A+B) for $54.99. Released in several countries outside of North America, this is the first film distributed under the Disneynature banner, preceeding EARTH.
This represents an extremely rare opportunity for folks in the United States and Canada to see and own this award winning film should it never be released in North American theaters (and it seems unlikely at this point).

TrailerPark on MySpace has exclusively debuted the poster for Step Up 3D from Offspring Entertainment and Walt Disney Studios.

On May 18, Dr. Beth Stevens, Senior Vice President of Environmental Affairs for The Walt Disney Company, will be one of four women recognized by the National Audubon Society in a ceremony in New York City as one of the leading women in the field of American conservation.
Dr. Stevens will be awarded the Rachel Carson Award named for Rachel Carson, whose landmark book Silent Spring opened the world’s eyes to the damage inflicted by the indiscriminate use of pesticides such as DDT. Before Congress, Rachel Carson’s testimony called for an environmental regulatory department which came to life several years later with the establishment of the Environmental Protection Agency.

In 2009, Carter was honored with the Legacy Award from the National Association of Black Journalists for his efforts promoting diversity in the newsroom and guiding the careers of more than 250 minority journalists over the past 16 years. He co-founded and continues to instruct at the Sports Journalism Institute, an intensive nine-week training and internship program for aspiring minority journalists held every summer since 1993.
