Acclaimed astrophysicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, host of the PBS series “NOVA scienceNOW” and director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, taped a segment of the PBS series Oct. 9, 2009 in the Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Joining Tyson for the taping was beloved Disney character Pluto, for an episode that focuses on the dwarf planet of the same name. Tyson, who authored a book entitled “The Pluto Files: The Rise and Fall of America’s Favorite Planet,” was at the center of the controversy surrounding the planetary status of Pluto. A frequent guest on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and “The Colbert Report,” Tyson attributed the public outcry over the dwarf planet’s demotion to America’s love of the Disney character.

In “Judge Me Tender,” Hannah fills in for Kara DioGuardi alongside judges Andy and Byron on reality show “America’s Top Talent.” Her stint as a guest judge turns complicated when Oliver auditions and delivers a knock-out performance. Oliver turns into a heartthrob overnight and gets so caught up with the attention, he neglects Lilly, so when he is scheduled to perform again, Lilly pressures Miley to give him a bad review so he won’t advance to the next round. Much to their dismay, he delivers another great performance and Miley finds herself stuck between being honest or helping Lilly. Meanwhile, as punishment for receiving a traffic ticket, Robby makes Jackson clean the attic. When another ticket arrives, father and son discover a case of mistaken identity, in a new episode of “Hannah Montana,” premiering SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18 (7:30-8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. After a couple of initial reports of a closure for an extended closure of Splash Mountain 2010, I have followed up on the request of a Stitch Kingdom reader and am sad to report that the attraction is in fact listed on at least one official Disney source as being scheduled for closure from January 3 through February 27, 2010.
