ANAHEIM, Calif., March 12, 2009 – Disneyland Resort celebrates 15 new awards for its restaurants and chefs as it prepares to launch the 2009 Disney’s California Food & Wine Festival, a six-week “World Celebration” that features delicious food and wine from Disneyland chefs and celebrity chefs and winemakers.
The 2008-09 awards were presented to Disneyland Resort restaurants and chefs at the recent Southern California Restaurant Writers Awards Banquet at the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace in Yorba Linda, California. A highlight for Resort restaurants was the recognition of Alex Flores and Francisco Origel, sous chefs at the perennially popular Napa Rose in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, as co-winners of the “Sous Chef of the Year” award.

Stitch Kingdom recently reported that the new Vinylmation collectibles series would be released at Disneyland and Walt Disney World on March 20. The correct date is March 17. The release party at Walt Disney World is still currently scheduled for March 20.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – ESPN has stumbled onto a niche that seems to be thriving despite the recession — people who literally have gone fishing.
The Walt Disney Co owned sports network said on Wednesday that it had added 44 percent more pages than planned to an insert in its Bassmaster Magazine aimed at saltwater fishermen because of advertiser demand.
From product expos at bass pro shops to the Bassmaster Classic fishing competition, companies that supply equipment and boats for bass enthusiasts are seeing greater interest, said James Hall, editor of Bassmaster Magazine and the supplement, ESPN Outdoors Saltwater magazine.
