The Leicester Mercury reports that Leanne and June Deacons’ lawyer, Robert Melton, told them that his clients deserve at least 14 million dollars as a result of permanent injuries Deacon sustained allegedly as a result of riding Tower of Terror in 2005.

The article quotes Leanne’s mother as saying ,’The amount we get has got to be enough to support Leanne for the rest of her life. TomKat at Walt Disney World

It’s all the talk and I was trying to avoid pandering to the celebrity fiends (or I was at least hoping WDW would release some real photos – although Tom got the best ones from the looks of it), but I can’t resist this one. Extra has some great shots of Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Suri and Connor frolicking in the rose garden at the Magic Kingdom on Valentine’s Day – they even have Dumbo shots.

NYCC09: Disney Publishing Worldwide Panel

The panel began with Tashana Williams, a licensing manager, discussing the importance of the fab five to Disney in the comics industry and the longstanding relationship with Gemstone Publishing who holds the rights to the property in the United States (much to the chagrin of many of the audience) and will continue to do so for the forseeable future. She mentioned Mickey and the Gang as the current (published Nov 2005) high end, oversized collection which features reprints of all of the Good Housekeeping comic strips from the 1940s through 60s along with additional collections. She mentioned that there are currently over 100,000 pages of fab five comics at their disposal so the ink well won’t run dry anytime soon. In the medium to long term, she said the company is working towards licensing the classic characters (such as the Disney princesses) in comic book form. Continue reading…
