We’re just about two months away from this year’s Disney D23 Expo and the news and updates are starting to roll in, with two major announcements being made this evening on the Expo’s ‘Things to Know‘ page.

During its presentation earlier today at E3, Square Enix and Disney Interactive announced the first announcement for the upcoming title ‘Kingdom Hearts III,’ the new world of Tangled, which was developed in direct partnership with Walt Disney Animation Studios. To celebrate the announcement, new screens plus a gameplay trailer was released. Fans of the highly-anticipated title will see Sora and his trusted friends, Donald Duck and Goofy, adventure through the world based on the hit animated feature film, Tangled. The trailer also gives new hints to the storyline and showcases gorgeous visuals, and new gameplay elements.
Earlier today, Disney D23 made announcements on behalf of Walt Disney Animation Studios for their panels and presentations at the upcoming D23 Expo. Included with the release were several images for upcoming projects, including one for Moana (November 23, 2016). What we unfortunately didn’t realize at first was that the accompanying artwork — while similar to the original concept art released for the film — has been updated with much finer detail with the lead characters, who have been repositioned on the boat. In addition, the artwork displayed on the sails has also been updated. An image showing comparisons between the two is included below.
Walt Disney Animation Studios today announced its most exciting presence at D23 EXPO yet. The event, presented by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, will take place August 14–16 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
CALENDAR OF KEY PRESENTATIONS/ PANELS/ EVENTS:
Earlier this year, it was announced that Pixarian and LEGO fanatic Angus MacLane’s WALL-E model, submitted to the LEGO Ideas program, had reached community support and been reviewed and accepted by LEGO to produce the model for mass market. Earlier today, UK retailer Smyths began listing the LEGO model along with some box images and images of the model itself.
While there appears to be no evidence to the number of pieces included with the model, it does contain some basic information about the model itself:
- Flexible head and hands can open/close
- Rotating wheels with tracks
D23 EXPO 2015 attendees are in for a fun-filled musical treat when Frozen FANdemonium: A Musical Celebration! takes over the 7,500-seat Hall D23. The event, presented by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, will take place at 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 16, at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has confirmed our earlier report that Disneynature’s newest release, Monkey Kingdom, will be available to own on Blu-ray combo pack, Disney Movies Anywhere and Digital HD on September 15, 2015. In addition, they have announced that for every digital and Blu-ray combo pack sold during the first week of sales, Disneynature will make a donation to Conservation International to help product endangered species in their natural habitat by supporting conservation projects across Indonesia, Cambodia and Sri Lanka.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment today announced that the live-action reboot of Cinderella will be available to own on Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on September 15, 2015. Bonus features will include the Frozen Fever short as well as more than twelve minutes of deleted scenes, including the alternate opening titled ‘Ella’s Childhood’ which we have previously reported. In addition, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released a clip from from the alternate opening, which you can find embedded below.
