Steve Jobs: Poisoned Apple?

Despite having recently taken leave from his position at Apple for no less than six months over health concerns, Steve Jobs is up for re-election as a member of Disney’s board – and on board he is along with supporter, pal and partner-in-crime Bob Iger. Jobs is the largest single share-holder of The Walt Disney Company since the acquisition of Pixar by Disney in 2006. In the past few months, piles of rumors and suspicious activity led up to the revelation that Jobs – diagnosed with pancreatic cancer – is in worse shape than previously thought. At Disney, Jobs will be required to devote a minimum of 250 hours to the position leaving many wondering if he’ll manage to pull it off.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to open Disneyland Annex

It’s hard to say who was most disappointed when Club Libby Lu announced its closure of all 98 locations, including the Downtown Disney Anaheim location: all of the adults who enjoyed spending money to cover their toddler in glitter and make-up or all of the adults who enjoyed complaining about it. While the now defunct Princess Fantasy Faire did its best to fill the greasy void, solid help is finally on the way with the debut of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique set to open mid-April. The boutique will be located in Fantasyland at the former location of Once Upon a Time… A Princess Shoppe.

Like the film which re-creates the Victorian era using modern technology, Disney is set to promote its 3D animated take on Charles Dicken’s immortal classic A Christmas Carol (starring Jim Carrey in multiple roles) by infusing the preferred mode of travel at the time with amazing displays and interactive experiences. The train begins its tour at Union Station in Los Angeles on May 22 and slowly winds its way to Grand Central Terminal in New York City on October 1.

The free experience offers visitors a glimpse at the film through exhibits such as a digital photo gallery (pictured, left) where characters transition through images of their creation process and evolution, a display on ‘performance-capture’ technology and interactive games. Also on display will be a first edition copy of the book and some of Dickens’ own writing instruments on loan from the Charles Dickens Museum in London. Promotional footage of the film will also be shown in a makeshift theater outside.

The full tour schedule after the jump. Continue reading…
